Rasmussen Reports Obama McCain tied in OH 49%

Thursday, October 16, 2008 Barack Obama and John McCain are now all tied up at 49% each in the battleground state of Ohio, according to the latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey.

A Fox News/Rasmussen Reports telephone poll conducted a few days earlier showed Obama leading McCain 49% to 47% in Ohio.

But only 53% of Ohio voters are now Very Confident that the votes will be properly counted and the right candidate declared the victor. Another 34% are Somewhat Confident in the outcome.

Forty-five (45%) say people who shouldn’t be allowed to vote are likely to vote on Election Day. Just 28% say it’s more likely that some who are eligible will be denied the chance to vote.

Late Wednesday, Ohio's attorney general filed an emergency appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court in hopes of blocking a lower court ruling that could prevent thousands of Ohio voters from voting on Election Day.

Numerous lawsuits over voter eligibility are already at play in Ohio, where over 600,000 new voters have registered this year. Republicans question the legitimacy of voters registered by the liberal activist group ACORN, now under investigation in Ohio, Nevada and other states. Democrats say Republicans are just trying to eliminate and discourage voters in states where the party's candidates are at risk.

Bad news for Obama and Acorn in the details

Eighty percent (80%) of Ohio voters believe people who want to vote should be required to show a driver’s license prior to casting a ballot.

Nationally, 76% believe a person should be required to show photo identification at the polls before being allowed to vote.

Once they make the SOS do her job, McCain will be ahead for sure.

Ignore the polls. Up 10, down 10 ignore the polls. Pray and work for it. Pray and work!

Perhaps, this is a sign of things trending back McCain’s way.

It is Rasmussen — McCain is ahead. In fact, with the obnoxious Secretary of State whose office hung up on me today, I predict that Ohio will be even more red in this election.

Ohio will go McCain. Look for other close battleground races to become even more close as 11/04 gets closer. The next three weeks will expose more about 0bama that has been put forth in 2+ years by the DBM....

If Rasmussen says 45 percent of the voters think there is illegal voting in Ohio I would say democrats are in big trouble for the next Ohio election.

Last Friday Obama was in chillicothe Ohio. With tons of promotion and free media coverage prior to the visit less than 3,000 people came out to see him. That is in town of 25,000 and a county population of 50,000. Not only that after the event there were many cars heading north ... likely back to Columbus.

Then last Monday Obama was in Toledo. There are 450 thousand people in Lucas County. Obama drew about 3,000 people.

Today Joe Biden was in Newark Ohio. Licking county has 160,000 people and Biden drew less than a thousand.

For some reason the Obama and Biden stopped drawing crowds in Ohio.

Then last week Biden and the Clintons were in Biden’s home town of Scranton PA. They drew 3,000 people. Two days later Sarah Palin was in Scranton and she drew 6,000 people.

Excellent observation.

And something completely lost on the drive-by’s.

It's going to be fun watching these idiots go ballistic if McCain wins the whole shooting match....I'm going to get great joy out of rubbing their noses in it. After all the Bush hating, anti war, anti American crap I've had to put up with. It will be a sweet thing to see.

Amen! The polls are at best worthless and at worst propaganda.

Ohio is a basket case. God help us all if it comes down to Ohio. It would make Florida in 2000 look like a walk in the park.

I think the drive-by media knows the difference in rally attendance, and knows it very well. They lie openly, knowing that only a fraction of the public is aware.

I just picked up tickets for the Sarah Palin event in West Chester Ohio tomorrow. I asked one of the guys at the campaign office how many they were expecting and he said probably 16,000 or more.

I was thinking that myself, but, FReeper Hamilton Jay from PA has been saying for quite some time now that PA is going for Mac, take it to the bank. He bases that off of what he sees on the ground and has a real sense about it. I get the feeling he is right, especially after 2, not 1, but 2 pollsters in two different instances let it out of the bag that 0’s numbers are not good, something like him being up 2% points.

Good report. It makes sense that all but the most leftist Dems would be disgusted by mass vote fraud. In the next few weeks many more will understand messiah's ties to ACORN.

I used to think everything the Clintons touched was dirty, but this guy puts them to shame.

Team Obama (including the MSM) need us to conclude that Hussein has already won, before the first vote is cast. DON’T BUY THE HYPE
