Obama leads McCain in Virginia
(NEWPORT NEWS, VA) With just under three weeks to go before Election Day, Senator Barack Obama leads Senator John McCain in Virginia by 6.0% among likely voters, 49.2% to 43.2%. Obamas lead appears to be driven by voter concerns about the economy. Asked to name the top issue that they would like candidates to address between now and Election Day, just over six in ten likely voters say the economy. No other issue breaks double digits. These findings are from the Christopher Newport University Virginia Poll conducted October 11-14 of 500 likely voters.
When asked which would be the second issue that they would like the candidates to address between now and Election Day, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan top the list at 20.4%, followed closely by health care at 18.5% and then the economy, gas prices and energy policy, and terrorism. Fewer than 7% want the candidates to address the personal character and integrity of the candidates, suggesting that voters have not responded well to Senator McCains efforts to make Senator Obamas character and integrity an issue in the final weeks of the election.
Nearly 50% of voters think that Joe Biden is the stronger Vice Presidential candidate, compared to just one in three who say Sarah Palin is the stronger Vice Presidential candidate.

Virginia is a dog fight and may end up being the decisive battle in this election. Load up your buddies and get to the poll!
let the Libs think they are ahead and many will stay home.
Don’t believe the polls. They showed Kerry winning handily.
The pollsters and msm are 110% behind obama because propoganda ministries do well in socialist dictatorships.

University poll...
This poll was taken on 0ctober 11-14. It’s already a couple of days old. Gallup and the other daily tracking polls are trending McCain.
A pro-abortion extremist who was colleague with an unrepetent pentagon-bombing 60s radical and who attended a black liberation theology church and considered its race-baiting kook pastor his ‘mentor’ leads a former POW and centrist senator by 6 points in a state known for its military tradition.
... The world’s turned upside down.
VA is going the way of California. McCain will win it this time, but it may be gone forever soon.
I don’t buy it. These polls are so skewered.

OK.
It’s a cr*p poll unless 100,000 ACORN registered illegal aliens show up at the polls.
If I remember correctly, Christopher Newport is a “community college” in a very liberal area of Newport News. They could find 500 bums off the street over there.

You won’t believe this, but some a$$holes did a “ding-dong-ditch on my house. (within the last 15 min, I walked outside but it is really dark and couldn’t see anyone). They rang my doorbell and left a note which read “ vote for obama- the clown posse” I guess they are mad that this family has a McCain/Palin placard in our yard. Or maybe they think because the mom of the household is black we have to vote for Obama. Well, if I catch anyone on my porch again, I’m calling the police. My 13 year old son is pissed.

right...University Poll...’nuff said!
Although I think it would do some good for McCain to throw some ADs out here (I haven’t seen any in ages), I think Virginia will go to McCain.
My husband drove through the state today for business, and I asked him to count the yards sign for me. He said he lost count at 17 for McCain for 2 to Obama.
I am just not seeing the support here for Obama.
