After the debate was over, the "conservative" pundits immediately trashed McCain. This was followed by Frank Luntz, who declared that is focus group idiots loved Obama (of course Luntz also said Palin was the knockout debate winner and McCain would surge in the polls after her debate).
This is supposed to be the conservative network? I switched over to PBS, and Clarence Page was giving more credit to McCain's performance than the Fox pundits. Same on CNN.
I switched to CBN, Pat Robertson’s Network and they were much much better then Fox was, it is shocking to me.
Luntz’s focus group saw 4 people go to Obama, and two or three who probably went with McCain, but they did not raise their hands, there was one woman who I was certain was a Dem Plant.
oh please - SOME of us would like to read actual published or broadcast material and reactions to it. the signal to noise ratio was suffering before an arrogant ass like you called me a n00b 'cause you got here 5 minutes sooner during the clinton years. if you insist on remaining part of the problem, good luck with that - I'll be commenting on news and events, not the latest bedwetter's soliloquy. k thx bye.
I was surprised at Krauthammer who said O won handily. I had to turn it off. We all just need to get out and vote.
I just turned them off....didn’t need to listen to Hillary praise Obama. I guess being a rat always means party before country.
Maybe McCain knows better? Zogby has the race to 4 points, Gallup to 3 points, TIPP to 3 points. Does that sound like someone in need of a knockout? Yes, other polls show it much worse... but maybe they're wrong?
Yea, I remember the Luntz group in the first debate. Asked for a show of hands, and said overwhelming for Obama.
I happened to be recording the debate. So I paused it, and counted hands. I was about 15-13 for Obama with a few undecideds. Not overwhelming.
Thanks for posting this...that dumbass w/the UNDECIDED group at the end...4 people raised their hands to say they were for OBAMA and then the DUMBass said..”IT’s a huge night for Barack Obama” and I immediately ran upstairs to be with my invisible friends on FR to feel better. 4 out of the entire group said they would go Obama...let’s see...that means like the rest are for McCain. HUGE NIGHT FOR McCain.
John tells it like it is - no spin needed. He verbally pounded on that smug obama smile.
I am saddened by the realization that this election has turned into a popularity contest. Certainly, there is much more at stake.
They gave McCain no credit whatsover. Obama came across as a smooth talker as usual but I thought McCain did well. They are letting the liberals run roughshot over the debate.
HA! I am a woman and I agree, eloquence means nothing in politics and used cars.
I am hoping for a large weather system from the west up and down the east coast on election day, make is miserable so that the Obama believer’s won’t want to get their hair wet.
Not just FOX, I tried a 'freep this poll' circuit right after the debate:
One thanked me for voting, told me Obamma had won, but never let me vote.
Another gave all the little boxes, showed no sign of reacting to my "vote" choice, and told me Obamma won.
The FOX focus group seemed willing to go for the warm fuzzy guy who 'looked them in the eye' and, after the fact, FOX's stooges declared that all Obamma had to do was look the part....we're voting for a portrait.
It may be that Fox may be under legal assult.
Hannity has been pretty scarce lately.
The Odinga connection special with Corsi never materialized.
Obama recently whined about Fox.
Something is going on.
I haven’t been to DU in awhile but in 04 they were bragging about hitting the polls and voting multiple times.
They have some way of tying the polls up. Just look at Greta. Her poll is about right...So is Drudge. Why? Because they aren’t HIT by the DU
I was scratching my head at the response on Fox, too.
The pundit (forget the name) describing 0bama as a cool-headed tennis player or whatever was the worst, but they all apparently had seen a different debate than I did.
And that Luntz focus group....puh-leeze. I’m beginning to wonder if those people could even decide between chocolate chip and pistachio.
Yeah, I’m grumpy tonight. :)
CBN did a fine job, much much better then Fox, they even covered the ACORN angle AND they went through with Joe the Plumber and Fox did not even mention that part of the debate which really was a highlight.
I am sitting here stunned. McCain cleaned Obama’s clock, and Fox is saying Obama won the election tonight???!?!? I’m think I’m going to throw up.
Luntz even made a comment tonight about scolding the panel about partisanship. I found that interesting and an almost consession to previous mistakes.
And I hope you're right and it really is that close. But the fact McCain and Palin are spending so much time in states like Virginia tells me their own internal polls must not look real hot.
If you watched the debate, regardless of what you saw, when it was over the FNC pundits would almost convince you that McCain lost, if didn’t know any better.
I thought McCain did better tonight than he did with either of the other two debates. Even the conservatives on FNC were dumping on him.
Kerry ‘way ahead’ in race for presidency
Los Angeles
June 12, 2004
Democratic presidential hopeful John Kerry has pulled far ahead of President George Bush, according to a Los Angeles Times poll.
But while Senator Kerry has extended his lead nationally, regional polls held simultaneously, also conducted for the Times, shows the electoral battleground remains even in the key swinging states, which he must win to become president in November.
In a two-way contest, Senator Kerry leads Mr Bush by 51 per cent to 44 per cent. In a three-way race that includes independent Ralph Nader, Senator Kerry leads 48 per cent to 42 per cent, with Mr Nader on 4 per cent.
The poll of 1230 registered voters was taken from Saturday to Tuesday
