McCain Must Demand Resolution Of ACORN Scandal Before Election
The Post-Chronicle ^ | October 15, 2008 | John W. Lillpop

Posted on 10/15/2008 12:54:07 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

The aggravated assault on American democracy by Barack Obama's fan club(AKA, ACORN) is no longer a minor distraction that can be swept under the rug by the candidate and his colleagues. Voter fraud has exploded into a major national crisis, which threatens the very integrity of the November 4, election.

Fraud by ACORN (registration so far) has been documented in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Ohio, and Missouri so far, all of which would benefit Barack Obama.

Which brings up an intriguing question: Why are there no ACORNers to register Dumbo the Flying Elephant as the Republican answer to the left's Mickey Mouse?

Why are the New England Patriots not signed up to offset Obama's advantage with the Dallas Cowboys?

The answer: Because Barack Obama has been directly affiliated with ACORN in the past, and has actually sent that organization $800,000.00. Voter fraud is clearly an inside job being run by, and for,Obama.

Decisive action must be taken immediately. The issue simply cannot wait for Democrats in the U.S. Congress to act after the election, when they will have stolen the White House and larger majorities in Congress as a result of crimes committed by ACORN activists.

John McCain must take this issue directly to Barack Obama during the third presidential debate scheduled for Wednesday night. He must make it clear to 100 million Americans watching on television that the future of American democracy is at stake.

He must demand that ACORN be investigated and that any fraud discovered be expunged before the November 4 election. He must further demand that the election be postponed, if necessary, until resolution of ACORN fraud is complete.

McCain will not find many Democrats sympathetic to a proposal that could cause the national election to be postponed at a time when their candidate appears to be pulling away in the polls. Such a proposal and the ensuing battle it would prompt could make the 2000 presidential election kerfuffel look like a walk in the park by comparison.

However, there is no easy way out, given the stakes involved.

McCain should add to the urgency of the moment by calling on President Bush to declare martial law until after the election.

Just like the Democrats, McCain surely will find these actions distasteful.

Unlike most Democrats, John McCain is a patriot and a hero.

The big question: Can America count on John McCain's patriotism and heroism during the nation's critical hour of need?

A bit over-the-top, but not that much. Voter fraud is on par with treason, in my opinion.

McCain isn’t going to demand anything. The fix is in.

McCain either doesn’t have the b*lls, and,or he’s given up. This will probably be the last free election held in the United States.

This will be the last free anything in the country previously known as America.

The martial law was a bit over the top...

John McCain needs to state that the casting of a fraudulent ballot effectively cancels a legitimate ballot and accomplishes the same thing as the denial of the right to vote. He needs to say that this most precious right is one of the things that he fought and suffered for and will continue to do so as long as he is alive. He then needs to ask Obama to join him in condemning the actions of ACORN and the like and join him in a pledge to identify and prosecute those guilty of committing, supporting, funding and otherwise facilitating fraudulent registration and fraudulent voting.

If Ohio is close, but The One wins, a Gore-like challenge might happen, since ACORN has already admitted to fraud but said its not widespread. (Of course, saying its not widespread is probably a complete lie, since ACORN’s mission is to get more taxpayer dollars so they can expand their hoax....)

ACORN doesn’t just threaten the election, it makes the United States a laughing stock.
I’d like to see each and every ACORN member rounded up and jailed in one big FBI sweep.

Most states require identification to vote, so the real damage would seem to be with the absentee ballots that were sent out before the registrations were validated if those registrations aren't properly checked and the absentee ballots invalidated if the registration doesn't check out.

We do need to have observers at the poll making sure that poll workers are requiring proper identification, but it seems unlikely that people will be able to vote at the polls using these falsified registrations here in Ohio.

I see no chance that the election will be delayed.

The election will be held on time, and then if there is evidence that those falsified registrations were used to vote, then the results will have to be challenged. However, for the results to be challenged, the vote will have to be close enough that the alleged vote fraud could have effected the outcome.

What ACORN has done is criminal, but it's chances of actually effecting the election results are extremely remote.

They have probably effected polls by having democrats oversampled in the polls, but that only translates to votes if people can actually vote using those falsified registrations.

Perhaps, but if Ohio turns out to be a deciding state, and the vote there is close.....

You can bet the Dems wouldn’t stand for this kind of thing from Republicans, and they would do anything within their power to stop it.

The left has become bolder with each election season. Why fight foreign enemies of the American ideal of freedom and capitulate to domestic enemies of our Founding Documents and the Rule of Law?

Martial law may be over the top, but something must be done about this serious, flagrant, assault on the power we have as a people to choose our government. They are laughing in our faces, and seem to think if they muck up the process badly enough there is nothing that can be done about it.

You’re right. It is on par with treason.

Mike Ramirez understands the quintessential ethos of ACORN.

Sure, Obama will denounce it on stage, he will commit to hunting down the bastards and seeing that they are brought to justice... all within the safety of the Oval Office.

It doesn’t take much for Obama to play lip service to a pledge that McCain wants him to join in.

No one has the authority to hold Obama to such a pledge.

Seeking a pledge from Obama just makes the guy look that much more appealing as a candidate who cares about the future of America.

Nothing will come of such a pledge, so McCain will steer clear of it.

You are grasping at straws.

“Voter fraud has exploded into a major national crisis, which threatens the very integrity of the November 4, election.”

“He must further demand that the election be postponed, if necessary, until resolution of ACORN fraud is complete.”

“McCain should add to the urgency of the moment by calling on President Bush to declare martial law until after the election.”

I believe these suggestions by Lillpop are precisely the planned response the Left seeks. This is their game. They want change. They want the American electoral system changed. They demand it be changed. They are causing this voter fraud to disrupt the system, and force the issue to be addressed. They have attempted in the past to address the issue.

Currently they want the Electoral College system changed to popular vote, winner takes all.

In the past two elections the Democrats screamed like “H” when they lost to Bush. They claimed the Republicans cheated. They couldn’t tell us HOW the Republicans cheated, but they were positive they did, and vehemently said so.

Why do the Democrats THINK the Republicans cheated? Because the Democrats cheat, therefore the Republicans must, absolutely have to cheat too.

The Democrats have a history of signing up dead people to vote, pets, cartoon characters, etc. etc. They have a history of contrived voter registration gimmickery to gain every possible vote they can, because they as Leftists truly are the minority in this Nation, and thank God for that. Their successes have always been sourced to fraud of one type or another.

Can anybody advise what it is the Republicans do to cheat for the purpose of winning elections? The Democrats cannot, but they say the Republicans do.

What to do about this problem is for our Federal Government to do the opposite of that which they have adopted as standard practice.

Enforce the laws.

It seems to me that Pres. Bush is empowered to file an Executive Order requiring that anyone voting in the national election, for national officers,

BE REQUIRED TO PROVIDE PHOTO IDENTIFICATION.

Let Pelosi, Reid, Waxman, Leahy, and all the other nutcases bitch all they want!
