While polls pop up with numbers attempting to predict a presidential winner, the West Virginia Wesleyan College poll for The State Journal tracks the profiles behind the numbers.

The poll, conducted this week by Orion Strategies, questioned 600 "likely voters," with emphasis placed on duplicating the West Virginia electorate as closely as possible in regard to party affiliation, age, gender and district distribution.

Below are the complete results of the poll. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Q1. If the November Election for President were being held today, would you vote for John McCain or Barack Obama: (Rotate Names): John McCain 310 51.7% Barack Obama 244 40.7% Neither 27 4.5% Not Sure 19 3.2% Total Responses 600 100.0%

Looks like the mountain state is still solid McCain. I saw a poll a few days ago ARG? that had Obama up 8. Didn't think that was accurate. Interesting how many think B Hussein is still a Muslim and would rather vote for Hillary. I have to believe that people in parts of PA and Oh feel the same way.

Some industry group is running ads indicating that both McCain and BHO support clean coal technology. I am not sure about McCain’s support but BHO is adamantly opposed to coal. CO2 sequestration is just a pipe dream. The idea is to increase the cost of coal so much that it is no longer viable. BHO is an enemy of domestic energy production. His Utopian vision will lead to an energy meltdown.

I didn’t see the other poll on WV, but if they had 0 up 8 and these guys have MP up by 11 that is an unbelievable spread. The MP ticket is in much, much better shape than these recent MSM sponsored polls would indicate.

I read the thread that had Obama up 8. It oversampled dems by a laughable amount, though I can’t recall the exact percentage.

"The idea is to increase the cost of coal so much that it is no longer viable."

So Obama is going to destroy what's left of our steel industry. Maybe some people in Key rusty states otta think about that. a little harder. 90% of coal is used to make steel.

The real question is will Senator Robert Byrd vote for Barack Obama for POTUS on November 4, and, if Byrd does actually plan to vote for Obama on November 4, then will he hopefully forget to go vote on November 4?

We know plugs Biden is against coal plants no matter how he tries to spin it now. They should have Sarah pounding the energy issue home in WV-PA-OH non stop.

No doubt. He’ll hire Kenyan mosquito tent makers, then hire ‘with reparation deductions off their pay) to go distribute them to all the fine houses people in his hood got for free.

They run that ad a lot during Rush or Hannity. I’m not sure I get the point of it, since it’s telling people that both candidates feel the same way, so go out and vote. On the other hand it’s propoganda to get votes for Obama since he doesn’t support clean coal tech. But if that’s your business and you know he doesn’t support you, why run the ad? I’m confused.

I have no doubt that we would be in trouble had Hillary been the candidate. We probably would be saying President Clinton again. Luckily God stepped in and gave us the worst candidate in the World to run against Senator McCain.

You Want to Learn How the Election is Really Going _________ ?

Not afraid to learn the truth? Really? Our society has been dumbed down so far that I no longer have any hope. The America I grew up in is no longer here. The whole freaking world has gone completely nuts !

I think you are referring to the 65-35 split for WVa. That is actually the correct breakdown. It’s not close in West Virginia, most are democrats, just like granddaddy was. I too had problems with that poll but not on the basis of the party registration numbers.
