CBS News' Michelle Levi reports that a PAC called Our Country Deserve Better is now running an ad that is essentially a compilation of most of the character and association attacks made against Barack Obama throughout the year.
The ad, "Obama's Wrong Values," began running Sunday night in Reno, Nevada and has since expanded across the state. The group plans to air the spot in Colorado starting tomorrow and run it in Michigan where McCain has pulled his advertising by the end of the week.
According to a PAC spokesman, the group has already spent just under $100,000 in Nevada and Colorado to run the spot. The group said its budget in Michigan is "$500,000 or higher." It said it has plans to expand to Ohio and Pennsylvania, adding that its funding comes largely from a large number of small donors.
The anti-Obama group says it is kicking off a two week "Stop Obama Tour," which will include rallies, starting tomorrow.
According to its web site, the group has one objective: "to defeat Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election."
They promise they "wont be subtle or vague - Americas future is at stake, and its time someone stood up to Barack Obama and told the American people why this man cannot, and must not, serve as our next Commander-in-Chief."
The 30 second spot opens with a narrator saying "Barack Obama seems to have different values from most Americans." As he says this, the Democratic nominee is spotlighted without his hand on his heart during the Pledge of Allegiance.
"His supporters put up Cuban flags with the murderous leftist Che Guevara in Obama's campaign offices," the narrator continues. "Obama's campaign received $33,000 in illegal donations from Palestinians living in the Middle East. A top official of the terrorist group Hamas endorsed Obama's campaign. And who can forget these hateful sermons from Obama's pastor of over 20 years."
At this point, Rev. Jeremiah Wright is shown saying "God Damn America."
Watch:
Wow, this isn’t even a hard hitting ad. If they’re already getting this mad for an ad that I don’t think goes far enough, imagine how shrill they’re going to be when the RNC and Conservative PAC’s start pulling out the big guns.
I want to see more Rev. Wrong, screaming and spewing his vitriol. Since McCain won’t do it, the PAC’s have got to.
This is a good start, but they’ve got to push harder.
I am getting their emails as well as I posted the one from yesterday, and I never signed up. We are on the same list whatever that list is about — probably donor lists.
bttt
New ad? It was on YouTube 7 weeks ago...
“McCain is too stupid to tell the truth so independents must step in to do it to save him despite himself.”
I don’t always agree with you, but you are dead freaking on with this. I wonder why he still thinks the press and libs like him?
Would the American voter have the right to know that a Republican Candidate for POTUS attended a racist church for 20 years where the Pastor routinely damned American and made claims that the United States government introduced the HIV into the white community to commit genocide?

I like it!
But I want the following in an ad. Putting these two quotes together would be devastating:
Reverend Wright: White Folks Greed Runs a world in Need
Obama book on Tape: White Folks Greed Runs a world in Need
The Communist Party USA endorsed Kerry too.
just started on TV.

I'd be happy to have somebody, anybody draw the lines between Saul Alinsky and Barack Obama though. The hope/change thing is right out of Alinsky's training manual for commies.
I’ll take it; I’ve been waiting for some 527s to show up with something/anything about the real Barak Hussein Obama (and yes, that is his full and real name and he should not be ashamed of it).
I would have liked to have heard a little more of that “God damn America” rant. They cut it a bit short there. But it’s better than nothing, and if they are funding it in states where McCain can’t afford to advertise, so much the better.
We have heard the full Wright rant, but most people probably don’t even know about it, so it can’t hurt.
There, fixed it....
That’s “incendiary”?
Pretty mild in my view.
