You seem to say that rights are granted by the state instead of being inalienable and granted by God.....as our Founding Fathers believed.

Beautiful, idealistic words -- the introduction to a very well written declaration addressed to King George III of England, telling him to bugger off (not me), And it has ABXSOLUTELY NO FORCE IN LAW. It is not the law of the land -- The Constitution and its Amendments are the Law of the land.
So what has that got to do with the subject of this thread?
