McCain: Ayers will come up in debate By: Andy Barr October 14, 2008 11:05 AM EST
John McCain said Tuesday that Barack Obama is probably ensured that his association with 1960s radical William Ayers will come up in Wednesdays debate.
I was astonished to hear him say that he was surprised that I didnt have the guts to bring up Ayers, McCain said on KMOX, a St. Louis radio station.
I think he is probably ensured that it will come up this time.
McCain was responding to Obamas charge last week that the Arizona senator was willing to make attacks on the campaign trail that he would not say in person.
I am surprised that, you know, we've been seeing some pretty over-the-top attacks coming out of the McCain campaign over the last several days, that he wasn't willing to say it to my face, Obama said. But I guess we've got one last debate. So presumably, if he ends up feeling that he needs to, he will raise it during the debate.

He’s acting and sounding more and more like he’s past his expiration date.
But it’s up to the party base to drag Yosemite Sam over the finish line-

McCain will never be given the chance to respond per the Bob Schieffer rules. That's what I'm afraid of. In that case, he will need to talk above Shieffer and firmly and with serious conviction say the American people need to hear this. This is one of many radical associations Obama had during his rise in Chicago and we have a right to know.

McCain has nothing to lose and should go for broke. Put all of the cards on the table. Make the debate exciting and to hell with Schieffer and his fixed agenda.

McCain ought to assail the vetting process of the RAT Party that allows terrorists like Ayers infiltrate the party using a puppet like Zero. Attack the very roots of the candidacy. Subvert the dominant paradigm, Johnny boy!

Maybe if he says: “Senator Obama — I want to ask you about airs. *beat* Why are you always putting them on? People think you’re aloof, and you always put on airs.”
To: silverleaf
It could be a feint - I wouldn’t doubt it - make the opposition worry.
Or a bait and switch - let’s talk about Acorn instead or the socialist party..........

He has to play the Ayers thing right. Not just describe what Ayers did and that Obama associated with him but to illustrate the radicalism of the education plan that Ayers and Obama tried to indoctrinate children with. Think of the moms out there hearing about how Obama gave grant money to teach kids about socialism and activism and not about reading and writing. THAT is how he needs to bring this up, not just that Ayers set bombs, and not that Obama associates with him, but that Obama participates with him even though Obama knew he blew up buildings and even killed people. Mac also has to tie in ACORN, since everyone is starting to know about this now. If he does it right, it won't come off like he is desperate, but like he is informing the American people of just how far to the left Obama is and that he is not the Mr Rogers he is pretending to be. Mac needs to show the people that Obama is pretending to be like them just to get their votes but that his ideolgy and voting record shows he is no where near like main street Americans.
Today on the stump Mac did some of that--he brought up the fact that if Obama was elected and the dems have control of congress that the tax and spend liberals will be taking over without any checks and balances.

Who cares if he shows his hand? Obama has told like 14 different stories so far about his association with Ayers, its no big deal, it is not like this is some new thing that has never been talked about.
Some of you are so ready to throw in the towel, and this is EXACTLY what the media wants---YOU ARE ALL LETTING THE MSM win! Think about it.

McCain not only needs to bring up Ayers but all the rest of Obama’s supporters. Make a case of it. Show the history of Obama and his other associates.

How is it going to come up if the moderator doesn't ask? Maybe McCain can refer to the weather, and pivot to Weathermen.

Didn’t he say that he’d hit hard last one too? Instead he proposed hundreds of billions worth of socialist bailouts.
To: JZelle
Didnt McCain already defuse this issue when he told that Ohio audience we had nothing to fear from an Obama presidency? No, he didn't.

WTH? Is this High School debate club or something? Why telegraph to your opponent some of your topics. This seems so amateurish.

Someone get this quote to McCain:
“I was around 8 years old when world war 2 ended...5 years old to be exact. Image if I later served on a board with a Nazi that actively participated in the exterminination of the Jewish people—I sure I would not be running for President today. I would never want my name associated with those that ran the concentration camps and tried to exterminate the Jewish people—I have better judgement than that. My opponent on the other hand doesn’t have any issue associating with those that actively tried to overthrow the US.”

Or:
“I spent 5 and a half years up close and personal with communists. I was in a dog cage, being tortured on a daily basis. That’s why I can’t use a computer, as your campaign has so nicely pointed out. At the same time that I was being tortured, your mentor and ghost writer Bill Ayers was bombing and killing American citizens. Oh, by the way are you, Senator Barak Hussein Obama, an American citizen?”
If Johnny Mac said this, I would kiss his feet - and I’m not gay!
