McCain: Ayers will come up in debate By: Andy Barr October 14, 2008 11:05 AM EST

John McCain said Tuesday that Barack Obama is “probably ensured” that his association with 1960s radical William Ayers will come up in Wednesday’s debate.

“I was astonished to hear him say that he was surprised that I didn’t have the guts” to bring up Ayers, McCain said on KMOX, a St. Louis radio station.

“I think he is probably ensured that it will come up this time.”

McCain was responding to Obama’s charge last week that the Arizona senator was willing to make attacks on the campaign trail that he would not say in person.

“I am surprised that, you know, we've been seeing some pretty over-the-top attacks coming out of the McCain campaign over the last several days, that he wasn't willing to say it to my face,” Obama said. “But I guess we've got one last debate. So presumably, if he ends up feeling that he needs to, he will raise it during the debate.”

Obamama is taunting McCain into bringing Ayers up. He would only do that if he believes he has some fantastic comeback to slam back at McCain.

McCain better be ready for it. Or drop the Ayers attack completely and suckerpunch him with Odinga. Maybe even bring a bloody machete for a visual prop.

Also he should then ask Obama what was in the contract he signed with the socialist New Party in 1996.

Then after that ask what it was in his speech to the Democratic Socialists of America that they liked so much.

I can dream, right? :)

Exactly, could someone please pass a steaming cup of STFU to McCain...please?

I’d die if he said “I spent alot of time up close and personal with Commies, I know one when I see one Barack..”

Sure that Obama will now have a few smooth lines about the Ayers relationship.

Rule #1 DO. NOT. TELEGRAPH. YOUR. MOVES.

Rule #2- Repeat Rule #1

Here is my forecast on how it will go down:

McCain: “I just want to say to my supporters who are constantly angry because I don’t bring up Sen. Obama’s relationship with William Ayers that this campaign should not be about such wild allegations and I want to focus on other more important things.”

Obama: “Thanks John, you’re the man.”

McCain can do Ayers, but he needs to one two punch on other issues, Obama has prepared for the Ayers attack.
Odinga? Extreme abortion views?

HIT HIM!

Eat your spinach McCain and leave him spinning!
I know McCain can get animated because he does on the stump.

Why the hell does he do that???? It’s like telling the opposing defense what your next offensive play is. My God, McCain is one horrid campaigner.

Note to McCain: Call Obama a LIAR and enumerate. Otherwise you’re wasting everyone’s time.

McCain, if you actually do bring up Ayers, it will only be to assure the American people that they should not fear him...that he is a good guy who simply made a few small errors when he was young. And of course he would make a splendid addition to an Obama cabinet. Sound about right for a first class, limp-wristed RINO!

Yeah, the Ayers thing is working so well for him.

It would be if the media would report it accurately. Since they're not, he needs to take it directly to the people in the debate. He should specifically cite the plot to bomb Fort Dix in New Jersey where young soliders and their civilian dates were attending a dance. His intent was to blow them all to pieces. Thank God he failed. Ayers is more than an "anti-war protestor" as the media likes to describe him.

McCain will bring it up, BO will have his canned response ready, and McCain will never be given the chance to respond per the Bob Schieffer rules.

If McCain tries later, Scheiffer will rule him out of order.

How about McCain says “I spent a lot of time up close and personal with Communists. And so has Senator 0bama.”

If McCain has the nerve to go through with this he had better do it right and follow through. I hope he has a good stand in for 0bama while practicing for the debate. He must be forceful, have all the facts at hand to be presented clearly, and he must not back down. I was disappointed in GWB at one of the 2000 debates where he brought up the Buddhist temple scandal and Gore’s “no controlling legal authority” line. He sounded rather sheepish when he said it though. Gore replied that this was just a personal attack. BS. But Bush never rebutted that reply and it seemed as if Gore got the better of the issue. If McCain falters in that way it will look very bad.

Odinga is the way to go. Ayers is a lightweight compared to that Criminal (And you rightly put it, video will be powerful once the ground work is layed).
