Indocumentados pueden comprar casa Por Delinés Batlle

PUBLICADO: 7 de septiembre de 2005, a las 12:11 pm (este) ACTUALIZADO: 30 de septiembre de 2005, a las 9:16 am (este)

NUEVA YORK, NY.

Nueva York Nueva Jersey Bridgeport, CT Washigton DC Miami Baltimore, MD Chicago California

American Dream For Illegal Immigrants
Tue, 11/14/2006 - 15:03 — Webmaster
Officials at the government agency in charge of preserving and promoting public confidence in the country’s financial systems are encouraging banks nationwide to offer services to illegal immigrants and many have obliged.

The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) has succeeded in getting several large lending institutions to offer a variety of banking services to illegal aliens, including home loans. Headquartered in Washington D.C., The FDIC insures more than $3 trillion of deposits in U.S. banks and is managed by a five-person board of directors appointed by the President of the United States and confirmed by the Senate.

It’s ironic, then, that agency officials would promote programs that would aide those who have broken U.S. federal laws by entering and subsequently living in the country without appropriate documentation. The chairman of a Tennessee bank (Bank of Bartlett) that recently launched a mortgage program for illegal aliens said the federal government gave him the idea.

Thanks to this type of encouragement from federal officials, several other banks across the country offer such incentives to those in the country illegally. The special programs, endorsed by the federal agency, allow local and national banks to grant home loans to people without Social Security numbers.

Last year, Wells Fargo proudly launched a lending program - called Celebrate Home—for illegal immigrants and the bank even issued a press release claiming the bragging rights of being the first major lender to offer undocumented aliens home loans. Years ago, Wells Fargo became the first U.S. financial institution to accept so-called foreign consular identification cards, in lieu of a Social Security card, to open bank accounts.

Bank officials don’t see anything wrong with helping those in the country illegally obtain the American dream of owning a home. In fact, they say that they are not required to ask the immigration status of their customers since that is the responsibility of the federal government

Citibank is the bank that Barack Obama sued on behalf of ACORN to force it to make more bad mortgages to minorities.

ACORN also beat up Wells Fargo for five years and Wells finally relented in the face of continued protests and flashmobs showing up at its branches.

Let Citibank die its natural death.

If you live making stupid decisions, by lending to people whom you can never track, we are in the country ILLEGALLY and can skip just as quick, you should die the same way.

hummm....I wonder if ACORN was one of the organizations Bush referred to as “cooperating” in his 2002 push for an “Ownership Society”. If so...how involved were they?

....”The National Association of Home Builders will team up with local officials, home builder associations and community groups in 20 of our nation’s largest housing markets, to focus on how to eliminate barriers, and encourage homeownership.

The Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation will dramatically expand financial and home buyer education efforts to 380,000 minority families. The Neighborhood Housing Services of America will raise $750 million to promote homeownership initiatives in many communities. We’re beginning to use the Internet better, so that realtors all across the country will be able to call up programs all designed to help minority home buyers understand what’s available, what’s possible, and what to avoid. The National Realtors Association will create a central data bank of affordable housing programs, which will be made available to agents, real estate agents, to help people.

So these are some of the beginnings of a national effort. And I want to thank all those who are responsible for the organizations I just named for lending your talents to this important effort for America. You know, one of the things Presidents can do, is they can call the old conference. So I’m going to call one — (laughter) — just to make sure people understand, not only are we serious, but to let them check in. If they’ve signed up and said they’re going to help, this will give everybody a chance to say, here’s what I’ve done to help. It’s what we call accountability. (Applause.)

And so this fall, we’re going to have a White House conference. It is a White House conference specifically designed to address the homeownership gap. It is a White House conference that will not only say, what have you done to date, have you got any new ideas that we can share with others as well. I’m serious about this. This is a very important initiative for all of America. See, it is a chance for us to empower people. We’re not going to talk about empowering government, we’re talking about empowering people, so they have got choices over their lives. (Applause.)”

I wonder, was ACORN invited to participate in this conference?
