Worst Case Scenario What an Obama administration and a heavily Democratic Congress would accomplish. John McCain trails Barack Obama and shows no signs, at the moment anyway, of propelling himself into the lead. Democrats lead in eight Senate seats currently held by Republicans and are close in three others. In the House, Republicans once thought they'd lose only 5 to 10 seats. Now things look worse.

Thanks particularly to the month-long financial crisis, Republicans are in extremely poor shape with the election three weeks away. This means the worst case scenario is now a distinct possibility: a Democrat in the White House, a Democratic Senate with a filibuster-proof majority, and a Democratic House with a bolstered majority.

If this scenario unfolds, Washington would become a solidly liberal town again for the first time in decades. And the prospects of passing the liberal agenda--nearly all of it--would be bright. Enacting major parts of it would be even brighter. You can forget about bipartisanship.

Start with "card check." It would permit organized labor to unionize the private sector without winning a certification election by secret ballot. It's easy to get workers to sign cards saying they want a union, but it's hard to get them to vote that way when labor organizers aren't hounding them. Card check is labor's last hope for more dues-paying union members.

Unions simply aren't popular and neither is card check. But it passed the House last year, only to be blocked in the Senate by a Republican filibuster. In 2009, with Washington controlled by Democrats, it would sail through Congress and President Obama would

It would be worse than the CARTER YEARS!

Why? Jimmy Carter, as bad as he is, came into Washington as an "outsider". Anyone who reads his memoirs or knows about that time, knows that Carter had an EXTREMELY short "honeymoon" with his overwhelmingly Democrat Congress. He began to piss them off ALMOST IMMEDIATELY.

Now, B. Hussein Obama and Nancy Pelosi are peas in a pod idealogically speaking. And Dingy Harry Reid is a dutiful follower...he just goes along with whatever his "leadership" tell him to do. As long as he gets to scowl, Reid is happy.

So get ready for Socialism on Steroids...if the worst happens.

Costa Rica is the most stable country in Central America. The real estate laws provide for actual title transfer unlike Mexico and they like Americans (somewhere between 80 and 100 thousand Americans live in Costa Rica). I have visited often prices for real estate range from expensive for developed beach front to down right cheap if you are willing to go for something more remote.

Really, it's hardly possible to get 30 Republicans to attend a protest. We're the law biding people. Dems are the criminals. Why would you think "it's going to get bloody"? That's nuts.

The only way there will be blood in the streets is if McCain wins. Tell me ONE time there has ever been a Republican "riot". JUST ONE.

Costa Rica is unable to defend itself.

If Obama is elected, I expect him to wind down our support for Columbia, and Venezuela will get basically get a “green light” to undermine countries throughout the region.

Central America will become unstable with small and growing insurgencies supported by Chavez on the “Bolivaran” model.

There can be little doubt, given his background, that Obama was a strong supporter of the Sandinistas.

I don’t know about protecting one’s family, but I’m moving every dollar I can info tax free investments to help starve the cancer of liberal marxism.

I will also be asking for a pay decrease to get below the new higher tax rates. What’s the point of striving to be better at work when 50%+ of any increase will vanish in taxes. It’s not worth it. Better to be a slacker.

Plus you had in the Carter years those Dems that were conservitive, who latter become Reagan Democrats who were not in lockstep with their lib counterparts. True we have what are called “blue dog” Dems, but many have sadly been silenced by the radical libs.

Also the real conservitive Dems ended up being driven OUT.

That's my point exactly. The passage of the Fairness Doctrine along with the mainstream media will allow them to pass any law with ease. That is why I believe it will be one of, if not the very first thing they do.

The first amendment is the first because it is the most important to a democracy.

They know this.

If Obama loses and I have heard James Carville say it last week, there will be riots. But those riots will not last long, because the rioters would be met with a superior force, police swat teams and the NG.
