It seems that Mr. Hitchens has been baptized with toilet water... or perhaps he’s just drinking it.

I can understand the apprehension of some conservatives that find themselves stuck with voting for McCain, but endorsing or voting for Obama is tantamount for signing a death warrant for our own country.

Can anyone in their right mind seriously consider voting for a leadership of Obama, Reid, Piglosie and the rest of those lib traitors, criminals all. The answer is NO!

I am convinced that should the libs prevail, ALL things conservative will be erased for several generations to come. The blood of many will be spilled in fighting to get it back.

Hitchens is a Christian hating socialist who gets conservative face time because he agrees that islamofacism is a threat.

He still hasn't gotten over the fact that the US had the audacity to fight a war against his fellow travelers in SE Asia to defend an ally.

I hate to have to disagree with Churchill (I quote from memory), but I’d never put in a good word for Hitchens even if he did support the ouster of Saddam Hussein.

I contend that most of the misery and strife which engulfs the U.S. these days comes from the "elite schools". I believe that most of the executives of the Wall st bankers, fanny and freddie, et al and a many of the congress people who caused this mess, all went to Harvard, Yale, Princeton and other east coast Ivy league socialist training schools.

They all studied from the same books, and had the same old profs. They all learned the same ol shiite.

No wonder the crash came so rapidly and went so deep. I am surprised that the house of cards lasted so long.

Now we are going to be stuck with nationalized banks with people like Chris Dodd and Barney Frank in charge????...sounds to me like it just may be serious crash time, today's upturn notwithstanding....

IMO....

does this bonehead/intellectual elitist have the address of a good haberdasher where we can all buy some snazzy dhimmi duds?

How about teaching him to take a bath and wash his hair at least once a month? (Daily would be much better.) He always looke like such a grunge whenever I happen to see him on TV.

Seems Hitch has the same perspective on Palin and Obama as our friend David Brooks at the NY Times.

His focus was on McCain. And he's right. The man is erratic. I don't like him. I don't trust him. But I must vote for him to spare the country of an even more idiotic nutcase.

The right is chivalrous and protective when it comes to Palin. Most, like you, ignore McCain. Where is the common sense in that?

His focus was on McCain.

Let's see:

"And the only public events that have so far featured his absurd choice of running mate have shown her to be a deceiving and unscrupulous woman utterly unversed in any of the needful political discourses but easily trained to utter preposterous lies and to appeal to the basest element of her audience".

That's focusing like a laser beam on Mccain alright. His biggest criticism of Mccain is that he had the gall to select her.

The reason I don't focus on McCain because he is impossible to defend on too many subjects. His ONLY saving grace is choosing Palin. And if he pulls this election off, it will not be because the base gives one rip about Mccain.

Palen is unashamedly Christian. Hitchens hates Christianity.

You beat me to it.
Yes, it is as simple at that. One can't help but note the level of venom in the attacks against Mrs. Palin. It isn't her experience. Mrs. Ferraro had less experience when she ran as VP nearly 20 years ago; and Mr. Obama has less experience today.
Perhaps it is a bit due to the fact that she is a conservative woman - and thus has wandered off of the Liberal plantation -- and needs a good whipping.
But the hatred is primarily due to the fact that she is a Christian (and thus, also pro-Life). Satan's minions are out in full force with their hysterics (as the 'god of this world has blinded them that believe not...'). The idea of a devout Christian (a real one) being in a position of leadership has driven them mad.
Mr. Hitchens has been on the 'right' side in the war against terror, but his hatred for Christianity makes him dead set against a Palin ticket.

Prayers for Mrs. Palin and her family. And primarily prayers for our nation that God grants us the privilege of having God-fearing leaders.

We're hoping he has a physical or mental breakdown shortly after taking office.

A few months ago, Hitchens (our most prominent ex-Trotskyite) called Obama a “megalomaniac narcissist.”

Apparently the only thing worse than that is a tough, articulate, self-reliant American woman who has both worked for a living and actually managed things.

That is just what I was thinking...Hitchens caught wind Palin was Christian and immediately hated her. He is an intelligent guy but not when it comes to religion. He makes a total fool of himself on that subject.

McCain lacks the character and temperament to be president. And Palin is simply a disgrace.

Next time I see somebody praising Hitchens here at FR I'll be sure to remind them that he chose Barack Obamas character over McCains. This drunken pos is a disgrace to drunken pos's everywhere.

I agree. Prayers for them. And in fact, prayers for those who feel they need to attack her because of her faith. They need our prayers even more than Gov. Palen does.

I have never understood those who have no faith of their own, and yet feel the need to proselytize those who do. It's odd. If you don't believe in a God, I would think you would just find those of us who do amusing and maybe silly. Well, that is unless we wanted to cut off your head.

Hitchins is always snotty, but I thought he was intelligent. Guess I was wrong.
