Iraqi Oil Minister Hussain al-Shahristani laid out details Monday of the country's first- ever oil licensing round, and said the national government will have firm control over several oil fields that will be jointly developed with foreign companies.
Shahristani said Iraqi state-run entities will have 51% control in projects to rehabilitate six oil fields already producing crude and two natural gas fields yet to be developed. Foreign companies will have 49% in projects and operate under fee-based service contracts.

Looking at that map, it seems that Iraq has more oil refineries than the USA!!! /sarcasm on
At least we’ll have the Dems to ensure that no American companies receive contracts. Probably French and German ones instead.
Don’t forget China!

If the Democrat-controlled congress hadn’t blocked the US companies that Iraq had already awarded contracts to months ago, we wouldn’t be back at square one now.
Shell is already here.
GE and Siemens are coming in to rehab and modernize the electrical grid.
There will be more U.S. companies coming in to do this work. Iraq knows who they owe, but they have to do fair solicitations for these projects.
Hell, I could work here for ten more years if I wanted to.
I just don't want to. ;-)
How many years have you been over there now?
It'll be five years in January.
Egads.
So, does that give you more senority than the average general in Iraq?
