The Sun Times today gave a major clue that Barack Obama will indeed go down with Tony Rezko, sooner rather than later. It looks as though Rezko is about to turn on Alexi Giannoulias, the 30-year old State Treasurer of Illinois (who was elected only because Obama backed him).

Obama can't be sent to jail after 1/20/09. It's VERY unlikely that a Grand Jury would indict, or the government prosecute, a president-elect. I would almost take the position that the government should not do so (just as I think opposite-party ex-presidents should not be indicted or prosecuted, and for the same reason).

So, as they say, time is of the essence.

Rezko's deal said that he had to reveal all. If Obama is defeated, Obama may get nailed by Rezko. If Obama wins, Rezko gets pardoned by Obama on Jan 21 and the investigations will be ordered terminated by the new AG.
