Palin, 44, has led the character attacks on Obama in the belief that McCain may be throwing away the election and her chance of becoming vice-president. Her supporters think that if the Republican ticket loses on November 4, she should run for president in 2012.

A leading Republican consultant said: “A lot of conservatives are grumbling about what a poor job McCain is doing. They are rolling their eyes and saying, ‘Yes, a miracle could happen, but at this rate it is all over’.

“Sarah Palin is no fool. She sees the same thing and wants to salvage what she can. She is positioning herself for the future. Her best days could be in front of her. She wants to look as though she was the fighter, the person with the spunk who was out there taking it to the Democrats.”

I’ll believe McCain is “tussling” with Palin when I see heel marks on his forehead.

The things newsmen come up with...

That isn't good when even the 'home team' sees the handwriting on the wall.

Senator John McCain has fallen out with his vice-presidential running mate about the direction of his White House campaign.

This from the guy only had one reporter to show up when he returned to NH to campaign (while Obama was in Germany).

The Times of London? Murdoch owns this but it is 100% pro-Obama.

Ignore this propaganda. Ignore the polls. A leading Republican consultant? Unnamed of course which means it is BS.

This is an attempt to depress our turnout.

Volunteer and contribute.

Anyone have opinions on the spin of a big loss v. a narrow loss for McCain (just for the sake of argument assuming a loss).

We need to realize that McCain is not going to fight the good fight. We ourselves need to drag him across the finish line.

We want 0bama exposed as a socialist.
We want his ties to the Democratic Socialists of America and The New Party exposed.
We want McCain to draw the conclusion that the common thread running through all of 0bama’s outrageous associations is the radical, dangerous left-wing agenda they share with him.
We want McCain to call 0bama’s “95% tax cut” what it really is: WELFARE.

We want McCain to defend the America we know and love and don’t want to lose to 0bama’s gang of left-wing radicals.

This is complete bullshit. Hey British press: Stay the hell out of our election, and shove your lies and unnamed “sources” where the sun don’t shine.

Probably the only thing I don’t like about Drudge, is the posting of links to British newspaper articles. We haven’t given a sh!t what the Brits think, in about 250 years as I recollect...

"Give up you stupic Republican Colonials, You should have knuckled under to our monarchy 232 years ago!" is what the article says.

Well, we f__ked you then, and we will f__k Nazobamster now.

Count on it.

Maybe you can get Nazobamster to concede in Charlestown.

Only an idiot or a Briton would believe that Palin is out there, a loose cannon, doing her own thing, and that McCain is arguing with her to tone it down,,etc.

This is classic campaign 101,,, aggressive attack dog Veep, throwing red meat to the base,, the pres candidate above the fray, appealing to the middle.

I hate to say it,, but we have to beat this marxist friend of the muslims. Our very freedom depends on it. Usually i dont feel that way before an election.

Our base is already reliably terrified of Obama,, and McCain on his most liberal day is 100 times better than this truly frightening alternative. Ergo,,,we MUST focus on the swing vote now. And that is what i think (hope) McCain is doing here. I think it would blow our minds to know how many people vote for the one they think “seems nicest”. I hate it too, but time to face reality.

But i assure you, Palin isn’t doing a damn thing that isnt 100% in step with the overall strategy. Get real Times.

“Mark Salter, McCain’s long-serving chief of staff, is understood to have told campaign insiders that he would prefer his boss, a former Vietnam prisoner of war, to suffer an “honourable defeat” rather than conduct a campaign that would be out of character – and likely to lose him the election.”

Mark Salter needs to resign.

A. Is there tape of this? Why haven’t we heard it? Or is this the recollection of some in-the-tank journalist-for-Obama???????

B. what about the Obama people threatening Palin with gang rape? What about the anti-American Obama fundraiser who tried to disrupt Palin’s speech and then is welcomed with open arms by The Great Barack himself at a subsequent fund-raiser?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

If he goes after Palin, he’ll lose by the only landslide larger than Mondale’s loss to Reagan. I think Palin should ditch him.
