Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama talked about gun control and the Second Amendment during a radio interview in Philadelphia on Friday morning.
Illinois Senator Barack Obama was a guest on KYW's sister station, WPHT-AM 1210.
Obama told talk show host Michael Smerconish he's a firm believer in the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms -- but admits there must be some limits:
"I do believe in some gun safety measures -- so, for example, with all the shootings in Philadelphia, most recently police officers, I want to make sure that we can trace back guns and bullets that are used in crimes back where they were purchased, so we can make sure that in fact the laws are being enforced."
He assured Smerconish, an admitted gun owner, and other lawful weapon owners their rights to bear arms under the Constitution would be protected under an Obama administration.

I’d love for him to point out where in the Constitution it allows for “reasonable gun control” laws.

Hey. Tax ammunition at an unreasonable rate. Then, people can ‘own’ all the guns they want....but ammunition, now, that’s another story.
Every ‘ruler’ understands that he who has the guns makes the rules. Even Mao.

Hey now, us lefties can work the bolt just as fast as any righty can on a right-handed rifle.

It is technically possible to bar code ammo.

The brass yes...
but the rounds, once spent, (according to those who know) will only show a legible code about 5% of the time.
That’s not worth messing with for criminalistic use.

“Took 2 hours for an instant background check today. Unexpected volume was reason given.”
I’ve never seen such large crowds in line to buy guns. I saw about 30 people in line at one store. It is hunting season upon us, but it is across the board sales of all types of firearms. Lots of fisrt-timers too.

Ive never seen such large crowds in line to buy guns. Let's give credit where credit is due. We can thank Obama for helping the economy with the huge increase in gun sales!(ammo too)

Nice reporting, is that like being an admitted drug user?

"If the Republicans had any brains (yes, I know), they could deflect this whole issue, silence the gun-control lobby, and disarm (ha,ha) the RATS by closing the gun show loophole by simply saying anybody buying a gun at a gun show has to undergo the same instant check as a buyer at a gun store."
I admit that I don't know how it works in the rest of the country, however anyone buying a handgun in the state of Pa. has to get the background check. That is whether it is in the gun store or if a private seller is selling it to a person. They are supposed to go to a gun dealer and get the background check done before selling it. Be it at a gun show or wherever. This whole gun show loophole thing IMO is a bogus argument to deflect the issue that Democrats want to take away our guns and if that can't be done, then take away out bullets.

Before you flame me, remember that it only requires a 2 minute phone call, Not flaming you but it's just a matter of time before they will require a psych exam. After all isn't that reasonable?
