Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama talked about gun control and the Second Amendment during a radio interview in Philadelphia on Friday morning.
Illinois Senator Barack Obama was a guest on KYW's sister station, WPHT-AM 1210.
Obama told talk show host Michael Smerconish he's a firm believer in the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms -- but admits there must be some limits:
"I do believe in some gun safety measures -- so, for example, with all the shootings in Philadelphia, most recently police officers, I want to make sure that we can trace back guns and bullets that are used in crimes back where they were purchased, so we can make sure that in fact the laws are being enforced."
He assured Smerconish, an admitted gun owner, and other lawful weapon owners their rights to bear arms under the Constitution would be protected under an Obama administration.
I personally believe that we should not give another inch to any new laws that are presented. We’ve given many inches over the years to “common sense legislation”, but their goal is to take all guns away from citizens. We have to draw the line somewhere. We will never get to keep our rights if we give them away, even inch by inch.

I won’t even bring up the *heavy* stuff.
Smerconish has been on the dark side for a very long time. He’s an egomaniac who seems to think that being pro Obama and a “moderate” is “cool”. He ignores everything negative about the man, and holds up the fact that Barry says “he’ll get Bin Laden” as the reason to vote for him(as if Obama won’t completely shred our foreign policy if he becomes POTUS).

The judge called Gidding's juvenile record "appalling," and could have sentenced him to a maximum 45 years in prison. Instead, apparently agreeing with the mindset of Ayers and Obama about the unfair nature of the criminal justice system, she gave him six to 12 years on charges of robbery, aggravated assault and possession of an instrument of a crime.
Ten years later, Giddings, all of a month out of prison from the carjacking conviction, shot and killed Philadelphia highway patrolman Patrick McDonald. Just the latest cop-killing in a city drowning in shootings. Had Giddings been tried as an adult earlier, or had the judge given Giddings the 45 year sentence, McDonald might still be alive today.
The phrase "gun show loophole" is code for "unregistered private sales,anywhere, loophole".
The goal is to pass a law akin to what you cite above, but require the instant check and full buyer/seller/make/model/serial on all firearms transfers, at a gun show or anywhere else.
California, for example, already has this law in place.
Gun sales have gone through the roof over the past months and this liar is the reason. We will need guns if this thug is elected and anyone wanting to uphold the 2nd amendment will have to be prepared to use them.

He'll protect and respect our Second Amendment rights to the same extent he'll protect and respect our First Amendment rights. A vote for the Liberal Messiah is a vote to repeal those Amendments.

You tell me. He has:
-written that he will likely support zer0 in the election
-stated on air that Tom Brokaw is his “hero”
-wanted Tom Ridge as McCain’s VP (Did you see his convention speech? What a disaster his pick woulda been)
-has complained on air that he’s tired of the “Dobsons of the party” picking the GOP nominee (Now he has his preferred pick, and won’t vote for him?)
He’s a lawyer-turned-talk show host, and good friends with Glenn Beck, and Beck’s done a tremendous job exposing zer0. But now that Beck lives in Connecticut and not Philly anymore, he must not be the influence he once was. Smerconish is a classic “shyster”. I turned him off months ago.
Well, one thing good about this election is that we now know who are friends are, and are not.
The problem has been this: Is McCain our friend? If he opposed the bailout he’s be up by 5 or more now.
