Turn to FOXNews for a statement by Congressman and Presidential candidate, Ron Paul.
The libertarian movement, the republican movement, the democratic movement, the conservative movement, __________ add in group here.
That is what the left does. They mask themselves as a group and speaks for them. They have done this with groups, religions, ethnic groups, etc. Then they take polls to show that they are the anointed ones.
We have to stop going after the fringe spin offs of their groups and go after the central nervous system.
Huh? He wants the border secured. And honestly I mean how much worse can he be than Bush or McCain?
>>>>>The Hegelian Principle can be applied to this financial dilemma:
You remember the steps: The first step (thesis) is to create a problem. The second step (anti-thesis) is to generate opposition to the problem (fear, panic, hysteria). The third step (synthesis) is to offer ** the
solution ** to the problem created in step one, - change which would have been impossible to impose on the people without proper psychological conditioning achieved in stages one and two.
During the past 10 years, this situation could have happened at any time. Why now? Just look at the ‘bailout’ package and tell me if any of it would have been implemented before it reached this tipping point. No one is even talking about its constitutionality. God help us!
As a kid, I was my Dad’s remote. He’d tell me to go change the channel...luckily we only had 3 channels at the time!
Paul is the only politician I’ve seen who’s stayed faithful to the Constitution. I’m still surprised by the amount of hate he gets on this, a forum named “Free Republic.”
When you look at what he says about the state of our government, its aberrant behavior relative to the Constitution, and what the appropriate course of action is, well, he sounds like just about anyone else in this forum.
Naturally the one politician who says what many here believe gets dumped on, while the one politician who has increased the federal government’s scale and scope on his watch over the last 7 years is somehow a great conservative.
Worth saying again.
I’m sorry, the primaries were months away. I thought I remembered Ron Paul NOT voting to support the Security Fence Act. Am I mistaken?
Freepers are but it does little good. And the public is against it but our "overlords" know better.
“Up yours, modern financial system!”
And I keep hearing all these fake free market economists on the news saying “well generally I’m not for government intervention, but THIS is a CRISIS!”
If you don’t believe the free market can fix itself (which is what this turmoil is about... it’s trying to fix our unsustainable bubble of credit and debt), then you don’t believe in the free market.
Get over it.
For as much as some adore Ron Paul, he sure seems to be completely ineffectual in Congress.
Don’t forget fake conservatives too, like Bushy.
I never voted for Ron Paul, but I say - let him speak!
A lot of people did call for more regulation of Fannie and Freddie. That was treating the symptom. I don’t know of any politician, except Paul, who called for the removal of their free credit line to the treasury.
Banks didn't willingly lend to unqualified borrowers. The government forced them to make the loans that then defaulted. How is that an example of a free market.
We need to dump the CRA. Nobody’s saying that but Freepers.
