For at least the last 10 years, weve noticed a trend that Congress does not support the will of the American people.
Voters have sat back and re-elected the same people who are not heeding the wishes of the people, but have led the country deep into socialism and all its dilemmas.
Even now, while we hang on the verge of a depression, the Congress approves bailouts which will cost almost a trillion dollars with the earmarks that have been attached.
Congress treats the American people as if the voters are dumb children unable to think or take care of them-selves.
In just the last couple of years, the majority of voters demanded that Congress establish a border control for illegal immigration. Congress gave a lot of lip service and continued on the same path.
Two or three months ago, when gas prices climbed to the $4 mark, people demanded drilling in America. An energy bill was put forward by Speaker Pelosi that not only did not allow that drilling to begin, but also added additional restrictions to delay or stall any future hope of drilling.
Democrats and Republicans have both become so similar that we no longer have a check- and-balance system in our government.
Its time the people took a stand and reminded those in office that we, the people, are in control.
It does not matter what party, it does not matter what individual if they are coming up for re-election, vote them out. Both parties are guilty; representatives of both need to be replaced with, hopefully, people who really care about the nation.
Right now, both Sen. Obama and Sen. McCain are talking about spending trillions of dollars that America does not have on socialist programs to bail out organizations and people who took advantage of a system that allowed them to buy homes they could not afford.
Now, we the people are stuck with the bill. If we keep on voting the same people in, we will keep getting the same lousy service.
Folks, lets face it. Our country has had some bad times since 9/11 and the government continues with its giveaway programs when were out of funds.
I dont know about you, but I was always taught that when you run out of money, you give up all the extras and stop spending.
Well, I think its time we get rid of the extras in Washington stop even talking about spending money we dont have and tell the truth. Raising taxes isnt the answer, either, Herbert Hoover tried that and it took the country 10 years to get out of the depression it caused.
Lets vote every incumbent out. And it would be good if the political parties would vote a lack of confidence in the two people running for president, but I guess were stuck with them.
No, people should just vote new people in after two terms, term limits have not worked that well here in California.
No people will not vote their congress critters out, what limits 2 terms? Only way is to have them pack their bags after the term limit is reach, they will never leave and the niwits will not vote them out.
America...it’s time to RE-BOOT.
Vote against the incumbents in the primaries. But I won’t do anything to hand any more seats over to the Democrats.
I’d leave the seat unvoted (or invalidate the vote for that office on my ballot, to prevent “further” fraudulent tallies) if I were going to oppose a Republican; but I wouldn’t hand it over even to a Democrat conservative. How many conservative Democrats hold leadership positions in Pelosi’s congress?
How many Democrats are decrying Chris Dodd and Barney Frank getting to ask the questions when they are among those who should be investigated by Congress?
Looking at what is happening here in California I can not understand how term limits help.
In CA they just run for a different office when they are termed out and name recognition gets them elected. Elected offices in DC are much more limited, they all can’t run for president. Term limits in DC are a good thing. It would also be good to able to remove any politician mid stream more easily than the laws now allow. Tar, feathers and pitch forks are fine with me.
My yardstick is to vote them all out of office. We need to send a powerful message to Washington.
Too bad for those congresspeople that voted against the bailout. I don’t think for a minute that they had our best interest in mind. More like their best interest. They all need to go.
Most of us didn’t take out loans we knew we couldn’t afford. We did the right thing and are now paying the price for those who did. Same theory goes for these Congresspeople.
California is for fruits and nuts, why must we judge by a leftest bunch of jerks.
Keep the good ones (GOP)
I gather by your calling people names you have no further serious input on this subject.
If the shoe fits.
Excellent observation and exactly why I believe term limits do not work. I will never again vote for an incumbent. I would disagree with the tar and feather aspect and the midstream removal - we must sleep in the bed we make and learn our lessons.
No worries, I hope you do not feel grouping 25,000,000 people into one shoe is a reasonable argument. I do not blame you, if my child calls people names, they have time out, if they do it again, they get their mouths washed out with soap, if they do it a third time they get a spanking, they have not been spanked in a long long time. It is not your fault, it has to do more with how you were raised.
look newbie I don’t to be lectured by you or anyone else, who think Byrd and the other relics will just leave without being forced out?
Your continued calling me names is much more a reflection of your education and thought process than anything you may “add” to this discussion. I have been on this forum for 10 years, I have recently relocated, thus the name change.
Let Ron Paul keep his seat. Other than that, I don’t care much.
Hope you’re right.
But I’m not going to hold my breath.
“EVERY INCUMBENT OUT
E.I.O.”
since most of us will have to end up “selling the farm” in order to survive the recent bail-out, why not call it:
EVERY INCUMBENT...that’s EVERY INCUMBENT OUT
or
E.I.E.I.O
