Which is exactly why we need to slam this in their face. Palin exercised her lawful authority as Governor in the firing. Period.

Monegan’s firing was lawful, the report found, but Palin let the family grudge influence her decision-making — even if it was not the sole reason Monegan was dismissed.
Branchflower said Palin violated a statute of the Alaska Executive Branch Ethics Act. Lawmakers don’t have the authority to sanction her for such a violation, and they gave no indication they would take any action against her.
Under Alaska law, it is up to the state’s Personnel Board — which is conducting its own investigation into the matter — to decide whether Palin violated state law and, if so, must refer it to the Senate president for disciplinary action. Violations also carry a possible fine of up to $5,000.
So, they spent 100k to possibly fine her 5k. And they don’t have the authority to sanction her.

The sad thing about this whole episode is that if you remove Governor Palin from the story, the sorry ass maggots in the MSM would be screaming for this trooper’s head once they learned that he was drinking in his squad car, illegally taking wild game, tasering children and threatening to kill people. Unfortunately, most of them thought only caribou, eskimos and polar bears lived in Alaska prior to McCain naming Governor Palin as his running mate.

I was talking to my aunt in Arkansas. She is elderly and doesn’t use a computer.
But while we were talking, she said a “special breaking news” flashed on her TV and said, “Palin abused her authority”.
I don’t know why we even try, sometimes. If the MSM is just going to make up stuff out of what they wish for, you almost feel, what’s the use? I swear, sometimes, I think we should just outlaw the press. We’d probably get more accurate news then on the underground, believe it or not.
Sorta like many FReepers are ignoring the fact that on another issue in question, the panel found that she was in violation of ethics law?
