After days of watching in silence, McCain calms the crowd at his Minnesota town meeting.
I want everyone to be respectful. And lets make sure we are, because thats the way politics is done in America.
Tells one supporter who says hes scared of an Obama presidency: I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States.
After a woman calls Obama an Arab, McCain interrupts to say: No, maam. He is a decent family man, citizen

And not a peep by the media.
They forced McCain to do this...they intimidated him again, all the Republicans on TV have been kissing Husseins arse too.
Sickening....we normal people will have to take over the leadership of this movement/party.
Thanks John, I’ll take another drink.
I see beer beating the Dow this year and the next.
Any McCain staffers lurk here? Any? If so, listen to me now, “SARAH MUST BE AT THE NEXT DEBATE, RIGHT IN THE FRONT ROW!!!” This will throw Obama off his game and give a shot in the arm to McCain. He’s a totally different person when she is around.
And completely undercuts their brilliant ads these last few days. Man is this guy worthless.
Even if he said this — what precipitated it — we don’t have the whole story and from what I read on Time magazine this is all they have. You have to be very careful in a Town Hall what a “supporter” says since there are plants from the Obama campaign at every event trying to get McCain.
McCain ads say it all right now. His gloves are off but he still has to be careful at a Town Hall event when it gets personal toward Obama because like I said you don’t know if that person is a plant and the media twists everything.
Stock tip: Buy Malox
Im mean its not like the left has libeled his running mate, characterized us voters as racists, and him as a cancer striken, ready to die senile old man throughout.
Really John...grab ahold of those balls of yours again and remember what its like to fight...something you promised you’d do for us and apparently are going back on.
Here I hope for fireworks at the third debate and I’m going to get mild ******* milquetoast again.
McCain should have answered that US elections are constrained to civility and left it at there.
0bama himself warned everyone that he was “bringing a gun to the knife fight”. And McCain refuses to even clench his fist, or allow the people on his side to clench theirs.
Maybe he thinks if he’s nice enough he’ll get a position in Obama’s cabinet when he is elected and he probably will be since McCain no longer possesses any political balls.
This election is over. McCain doesn’t want to win and we’re going to see our first marxist president.
Isn’t life wonderful.
If he doesn’t care about winning, why should we?
After the election, we'll probably have stories of these guys admitting as much.
guys PLEASE!!!!!!!
its called the news cycle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
it will be all over msm.....and it will play well
NO that was the right thing to do! The polls are tightening and to blur something off the wall would be suicidal! Let someone else insult the MUSLIM!! C’mon guys you all know better! Who knows perhaps they were planted there by the Ozero’s camp! What weird question to ask though. He has to use some caution! 4weeks is forever in an election cycle!
He must be, NordP!
I know he has lost me....I can’t handle this stuff.
He has been putting out ads about how dangerous Obama is, and then in 1 MINUTE, in a speech, it all went down the toilet.
End of campaign
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
I believe that Obama is desparate to falsely portray Republicans as stampeding, panicked racists. When we didn’t live up to the smears, I believe the Obama campaign has sent trolls to public events to shout ‘kill him’ and ‘arab’ etc. so that voting against Obama can be likened to supporting those who want to kill him etc. I believe that McCain has to fight this and he is - by countering the most outrageous racial/ethnic kinds of attacks that have begun to occur.
They're not.
PhiKapMom - he said these things unprovoked. He obviously went into the rally meaning to say them. It was shocking to me.
I’m quite disheartened.
