After days of watching in silence, McCain calms the crowd at his Minnesota town meeting.

“I want everyone to be respectful. And let’s make sure we are, because that’s the way politics is done in America.”

Tells one supporter who says he’s scared of an Obama presidency: “I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States.”

After a woman calls Obama “an Arab,” McCain interrupts to say: “No, ma’am. He is a decent family man, citizen

Did you hear Norm Colman today, suspended his negative ads in his contest with Al Franken?

So now we will have SENATOR AL FRANKEN?

How lame is that?

Republicans should be ashamed of themselves.

RE: “In the future, McCain should either say nothing, OR the best thing to say is “I’m sorry to hear people say these things BUT I’m here to tell you all what I can do for this country. I don’t speak for Obama.”

That would be good —

The last debate is coming right up and even before that night McCain will have opportunities to refer back to today’s misstep and say something to the effect that while he tries to see Obama as a decent family guy, he realizes his comment was misinterpreted by many and that he truly does NOT feel Obama is appropriate nor prepared to be President.

Why isnt McCain reminding people that we are at war with people who want to destroy us ? and handing the Presidency over to a liberal like Obama in a time of war is dangerous.

I've heard him make this argument more than once. Where have you been?

ITA. People who are that angry and passionate aren’t going to flake out on election day.

You are beyond hysterical. Norm Coleman is in control of his Senate race. He is more worried about a third party challenge than he is about Al Franken.

You should be ashamed of yourself. There is a reason you've not been hired to run any campaigns.

Okay, I think we all have vented. Thank God we live in a free society and have a wonderful forum in which to do this.
The bottom line is we have been wounded today and reacted. It was alright and appropriate to do so.
The question before us now is, "WILL IT BENEFIT the election results to carry it further?"
The Freeper who said....
"I am not voting for McCain... I am voing against Obama" was right. McCain must win this.
I was in there yelling with the rest of you this afternoon, mad and wounded.....but we need to refocus now.
If that means walking away for a while and focusing on our family doing something fun, or spending time reading scripture, or listening to some uplifting music, then so be it.

What ever,.....let's go back to winning this election. I DO feel it is very appropriate to vent TO John McCain on his website!!!! Then let it die!
It is downright frightening to me to think of
President Obama! Polly

I cannot imagine Romney, Thompson, Giuliani, or even Huckabee saying such a stupid thing in the General Election - (and Romney, for one, would have wiped the floor with Hussein in the debates)

sigh

Others have brought this up...that it might not be true. We should wait to find out if it is. I’m just mad at myself and find it sad, that all of us could so quickly think the worst. NOT a good sign.

Ok, I apologize for my rant earlier in which I was not kind to McCain. Maybe he was being sarcastic, I don't know, I do know I don't like it. He can calm the crowd without saying BHO would make good president, that's uncalled for. I am still going to vote for him because we only have one choice really. Either find ourselves fighting for our lives, and I mean literally, or vote McCain in. If BHO gets in with a Dem congress we are done for, second amendment goodbye, 1st amendment coup de grace delivered. Re-education camps, believe it, it is coming if you don't vote for McCain.

Rush said it today, say goodbye to every thing you know now and to any prosperity you have ever known because if BozO gets into office that will all disapear. Vote for McCain or loose everything.

“It looks like the Dem run investigation of Palin pretty much shot the other candidate for us... Sarah.

Now..I WILL give money to her to fight if she needs it.”

Seems like she had legitimate reasons for firing the guy which means her action was a legitimate use of her power, not an abuse of power. What proof did they have of an abuse of power as opposed to proof of legitimate uses of her power?

These kinds of things all boil to down to the same thing. You fight your enemies, you don’t play nice with them. You don’t worry if they like you or not. You don’t let them define you and you certainly never let them manipulate you. Palin understands this simple concept. Everybody’s friend, John McCain, does not.

But she is not being treated fairly.

Well, sweetheart, what did you expect when a gorgeous, conservative, Governor who also happens to be a mom of five, wife of a hunk, a sportsy outdoorswoman, has fabulous legs, campaigns in peep toes and is smart, funny, charming, confident, down-to-earth and sexy??? They are living with the nightmare that perhaps the evil nasty enemy Republicans might put the first woman in the White House. I say let them scream!

“No - you are falling into their trap if you let your supporters become a ‘MOB’. People are angry, and angry people can be whipped into a mob quite easily. That would lose this election in a heartbeat.”

The man who stood up and expressed his fear over what type of SCJs Obama would appoint, is not a credible example of the mob mentality. He pointed out the same things that are pointed out here all day long. Using language like “mob” to describe that audience is an ill attempt at defending McCain.

Hey SE Ohio, if I send you some postage can I have your yard sign? I can't get one where I live, because demand is so great!!

I wish I could put up a yard sign...I fear even a small sticker in a window would cause a large rock to go through my living room. Be happy you can show your support!

Rush nailed it.

This election marks the end of our once great nation. Obambi will use the financial disaster as his excuse to nationalize banks, health care, and the oil industries. Taxes will go through the roof. Reparations payments will be made.

Then, the RATs will consolidate their power by adding DC and likely Puerto Rico as states. Imposing the "fairness doctrine" to shut up Limbaugh and Hannity. Naturalizing all illegals so they can vote. Restoring voting rights to all felons. Making any type of voter ID law illegal.

Sorry folks. Our nation made it 232 years. We had a good run, but it is over.
