After days of watching in silence, McCain calms the crowd at his Minnesota town meeting.

“I want everyone to be respectful. And let’s make sure we are, because that’s the way politics is done in America.”

Tells one supporter who says he’s scared of an Obama presidency: “I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States.”

After a woman calls Obama “an Arab,” McCain interrupts to say: “No, ma’am. He is a decent family man, citizen

This amazes me. Of course Obama has to tone down his supporters, too, right? You know, the ones who call McCain a brainwashed old man, or Palin is a c—t or b—tch? I don’t see the media clamoring for that toned down rhetoric. Suddenly, the candidate is responsible for the words spoken by supporters who attend rallyies. Since when? I’m sooooooo disgusted McCain would be playing the media’s game. But then again, I’m not surprised.

You'll get to. It should be in the next Obama ad. It was as close to a concession speech as I've ever heard from a candidate at this point in an election. Incredibly foolish. He essentially praised Obama and said he would be OK as president and something to the effect that people should not be afraid of him being President<

AFREED with EVERYTHING you just posted.

He campaigned for a communist in Kenya that made a deal to implement Islamic law. Is that extreme enough for you?

...the base is NOT coming out for this guy now.

Are you crazy, it makes me sick and angry too but I'll be damned if I vote for anyone except the Palin ticket to keep 0bama out. We must not let 0bama be the next President.

Look, I didn't want to vote for McCain, in my gut I'm voting for Sarah, to give her a foot in the door and against the Marxist 0bama. I was once willing to sit out the vote, sick and tired of voting for the lesser of two evils. However, now it really is the lesser of two evils, a really big evil called Socialism, Marxism, Communism.

We must vote against 0bama to give us a chance to get this country back. We'll be disappointed with McCain but we'll be destroyed by an 0bama presidency.

I turned in my early vote today but feel the same way you do. The ONLY pacification I can give myself is to know I voted for the only person who is NOT connected to those snakes in Washington. If McCain can make it to the White House in spite of himself, then Sarah will, too....and, in that, is hope.

the audio feed on local news here in MN had John saying “let’s be respectful”...
and that he admired Obama.

McCain thinks the left and so-called “independents” will respect him if he lets Obama and ACORN get away with whatver they can. He’s more afraid of being called a racist than anything else it seems.

Hussein is the only one who has threatened to prosecute for dissent!

GWB would never, and has never.

Even tho the UnAmerican Democrat Party betrayed him, betrayed their country, betrayed our troops, and their families. They leaked intell, they aided and abet the enemy with boots on the ground, they gave comfort to the headchoppers while our guys were DYING!

The entire party should be lined up and shot.

It looks like Obama have gotten into mccain’s OODA loop.
When I saw McCain on foxnews say it, I thought the race is over.
This is a very disturbing series of events.
I think senility is evident.

Oh I agree but I think the demc crossovers in the primaries worked better for the dems than us. How many of us crossed over in the dem primaries and voted for the 0 over Hitlery?

I know I had a couple of conversations with a few who thought that the 0 had no chance of winning.

You said the base wouldn’t come out for him now...

I am the base, and I will vote, for Sarah...but it is the undecideds that will take his statement as “persmission” to vote for Obama.

It is up to him, as the “other candidate” to give people the reasons for voting for him and against the other guy.

The base was back with the pick of Sarah for VP...he just lost the ones that he NEEDED to beat Obama. GONE...

I have never had the feeling that he ever wanted to win.

I was just saying this exact thing to my husband not 15 minutes ago. Makes me sick.

Gawd I wish Rudy or Romney would have been the nominee.

Interesting. Look, at this point the Supreme Court is about the only reason I am voting this election.

Frankly, otherwise I don’t care much. A Dem president sometimes is needed to right the Republicans.

Just like a Republican president is needed to get the Dems back to themselves.

After time in power, it corrupts nearly everybody and the other side needs to win now and then to keep your side energized and fix your power corruption.

At this point, however, there WILL either be deaths or retirements on the Supreme Court among the liberals in the next four years.

There is no way this will not occur.....I can’t imagine that.

They are just TOO OLD.

We need McCain so we can keep the pressure on him for a decent SCOTUS pick.

Obama is a lost cause, but with McCain we at least have a shot.
