After days of watching in silence, McCain calms the crowd at his Minnesota town meeting.

“I want everyone to be respectful. And let’s make sure we are, because that’s the way politics is done in America.”

Tells one supporter who says he’s scared of an Obama presidency: “I have to tell you, he is a decent person, a person that you do not have to be scared [of] as president of the United States.”

After a woman calls Obama “an Arab,” McCain interrupts to say: “No, ma’am. He is a decent family man, citizen

How can he just dismiss real, legitimate fear like that? Is he playing the "nice guy" card? There's nice and then there's roll-over-sappy-nice.

This is disturbing.

Somehow the GOP manages to win despite a hostile press and crooked polls. With all his gaffes, McCain should be toast. Yet he's poised to take Obama down. He's been in politics a long time to know what he thinks works for him.

Having witnessed the horrors of Communist tyranny firsthand, he can’t understand why anyone would espouse Communism and doesn’t want to believe that Americans ever would.

Bush’s numbers plummeted when support for the Iraq war did. If you think prosecuting people for dissent would help the process...

He made two statements while putting out an ad tying Obama to ACORN.

Some of you need to get a grip. He is only talking about the more extreme statements by some.

Yeah right. Decent.
‘Respectful campaign’, right.
RESPECTFUL CAMPAIGNING WENT STRAIGHT OUT THE WINDOW WITH OBAMA’S NASTY, BRUTAL COMMENTS SUCH AS;
‘lipstick on a pig’ and ‘You can wrap AN OLD FISH in a piece of paper called change. It’s still going to stink after eight years.

Take off the gloves, McCain! HE DOESN’T DESERVE YOUR RESPECT.
HE’S NOT EVEN FIT TO SHINE YOUR SHOES.

Hit the Marxist/Muslim hard with Ayers, Acorn, Violation of Logan Act, abortion, 2nd admendment, Campaigning for Odinga!!

Get off the d*mned economy issue.
State that Obama/Democrats/ACORN caused this meltdown. State McCain offered a proposal to avert the meltdown, state your solution- and GET OFF IT.
Obama is counting on keeping this going to take the spotlight off his sordid past and dirty dealings!
NOTHING is more important than waking America up to this Marxist/Muslim!! DO IT. EXPOSE HIM!

yes, he wants to win for US. But IF there are people out there yelling things (we might be thinking) then it looks bad for McCain/Palin. I know John McCain wants to continue to serve. I think he is doing this for us.

It’s authentic. Carl Cameron reported it. He was there. Said there was silence after McCain’s statement.

He just made up my mind for me. I’ve been struggling. Now I’ve decided I will not waste my precious gasoline to drive to the poll to vote for this man.

My teeth almost fell out when I just heard McCain on Fox say Obama was a decent person. I’m so disheartened. How can he be decent if he’s a common thug from Chicago with associations with Ayers and so many others. McCain is either stupid or losing his mind. We want him to fight and he said yesterday that he would, but he’s not. I just don’t know how to express my disappointment.

Yep. A hell of a lot of good it does to connect him to Ayers, Odinga and ACORN and then tell people there’s nothing to be afraid of.
I can’t express how pi$$ed off I am right now.

not all arabs are islamists.

In fact theres a decent population of Arab christians in southern ohio that are incredible citizens. If by natural environment you mean the middle east, then I don’t put blanket blame on arabs for the actions of the radicals.

Nor would I blame all blacks for gun crimes, all whites for abortion bombings, etc
