As you might have heard, I am covering the McCain/Palin appearance today. At the media breakfast at the Pfister Hotel about an hour ago, you would simply not believe the vicious, nasty conversation I just overheard between several "elite" media types from the McClatchey news service, AP, and a couple of other sources I didn't quite catch.
Over the course of just a few minutes, I heard.... that he and Lou Dobbs are "mean-spirited sycophants," and that McCain himself is "angry" and "crusty." One even recalled a recent campaign event at which Sarah Palin autographed a supporter's Bible, prompting this "objective" journalist to remark "these people terrify me."
the so-called j-schools emerged in the 1960s, separate colleges within universities. thus, no requirements of math, science, latin, french, german, engineering, etc.
it’s a college-lite curriculum. and the applicants score lower on the sat’s and gre’s, with education majors, than the university as whole.
the teach leftwing politics. they laugh at the opposition.
i worked in a university admissions, and i knew some of the j-school students.
The media elite will find out the real meaning of terror if Obama becomes elected. The ways in which Obama will use the government to control the press is going to astonish them.
political affiliation
and if they are found to be radically out of alignment from society, then an affirmative action like process should be pushed on them
:)
This is a GREAT idea! Nothing like a little light to send the cockroaches scurrying.
These people should be terrified. They know that someday they will be held accountable for their actions. Of course they will not say or acknowledge this, but they know it is true.

Mark Haines on CNBC says the stock market is afraid of an Obama prez and that is why the markets are scared and down.
About 10 minutes later, they show Obama on MSNBC and had a market ticker in the corner and when Obama started talking 'live' in Chilchotte, OH(?) the market was in positive territory and the entire time he was shown on the TV the market returned to negative territory and stayed there!
McCain/Palin is the answer for the stock market!!!
They should ask the press people about what they think of Democrats causing this financial mess here and probably all over the world?
Be discrete.
What do you think the future of the media is? Certainly the current model is not profitable. Newspapers are failing everywhere. However, there will always be a market for information and reporting, thus there will always be money to be made. Where will that be, and how will it be done? The dinosaur media will hang around for awhile (maybe they’ll even ask for a government bailout), but they are dying on the vine.
It really seems we are now two countries. We have two vocabularies, value vastly different things and seek different directions. The only remaining question is when the cultural cold war will turn hot.
It would be to hte interests of the nation if there wetre regular reports like this on Journalists. If they are putting themselves forward for us to trust as reliable sources of reports on events important to the public at large should not the public at large be informed as to their reliability. Just what do we know about these people and why should we trust them?
Good hunting!
“Sarah Palin autographed a supporter’s Bible...”
Still, why would she autograph a book she didn’t write? That’s more like something Joe Biden would do, although he’d probably try to take credit.
That is why they are so intent on the Obamanation winning as this maintains their power. Either thru his administration's actions or via direct legislation the “new media” will be under attack. This will increase the old media's power and influence which they believe will increase their financial success.
I believe the old media will survive, but in a less influential way. Those that think they still do not wield tremendous influence or that they will fail will be disappointed IMHO.

This is the biggest problem we face. I talk to young people (20 somethings) everyday and marvel at the total lack of critical thinking skills. The schools have indoctrinated our youth with moral relativism/lack of absolutes and lack of personal repsosibility/you are not responsible for your circumstance. These ideas are so destructive to the individual.
If we want to turn this around, we need to start with 1st Graders.
