mccain needs to announce his major cabinet positions now. If he loses, it will be irrelevant.

Announcing now would be a coup in that it is not typically done.

Make the cabinet diverse, bipartisn (i.e. Lieberman for SecDef), women, and blacks. Showing these faces will ensure a willingness to reach across the aisle.
