In an interview with conservative Philadelphia radio talk show host Michael Smerconish today, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said his relationship with William Ayers is being questioned and his middle name is being invoked at events for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin to distract voters from the economy.
You can listen to the audio HERE, courtesy of Politico.
"This is a red herring," Obama said of the Ayers story," because people don't want to talk about the fact that economy over the last eight years has been mismanaged to the point that we're teetering on a really, really bad situation.
Smerconish asked about the myriad Republicans at McCain-Palin events this week who referred to "Barack Hussein Obama."
"I don't think there's any secret about this," Obama said. "My father was from Kenya so I've got an Arab-sounding name, and I think most people know that I was raised by my mom who was from Kansas, which is why I've got a Kansas-sounding accent
When people are purposely doing this in connection with a theme the McCain campaign's decided they want to pursue in the past few weeks, which is to go after me personally, in some pretty aggressive ways, then, you know they're trying to distract from the economy."
No Obama... you’re a crooked punk who hates this country, and will associate with anyone who feels the same way.
Hahahahahahaha!
Maybe in 10 years when if I see Osama at Starbucks and decide to work on a children’s foundation with him, I can shrug and say, “I thought he had been rehabilitated”.
Baloney - boy is he digging himself in a hole. McCain really needs to be a pitbull on this issue at the next debate.
“You can trust me even though I have no record. Believe me.”
“How dare my opponent question whether or not you can believe me?!”
I guess Odumbo didn’t read Ayers books...or his listen to his speeches...or converse with him...
If this cover story were true, then it further proves that he is a gullible dunce.
This guy keeps digging a deeper and deeper hole for himself. He didn’t know Ayers had done those bombings, but at the same time he assumed Ayers had been rehabilitated? Rehabilitated from what, Mr. Obama?
Waaaahhhhhh!! WAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! They're calling me by my name that I adopted when I decided I was going to reject my mother's people!
Liar, liar, pants on fire.
Kansas accent? Good grief.
The more this punk says, the more he sounds like an absolute pompous jerk. And this is who people want to elect in a time like this?
The only “Red Herring” in Obama’s most recent effort to cover up his deep ties to his former employer/mentor Bill Ayers is that he is saying that calling attention to his past executive experience, which seems to consist solely of working closely with Ayers is the equivalent of making childish fun of his middle name. He’s trying to deflect the real issue with a frivolous one - the traditional Red Herring served with style.
I never knew anyone from Kansas that sounded like Obama.
Barry can’t be trusted. A POTUS should never assume anything.
Not ready or fit to lead.
Been telling y’all about this for months and months, guy sounds like Eisenhower!
If his accent is from Kansas, I’m Toto.
this man is a fool. and who is running his campaign, giving him advise? dont they even TRY to make the story line FIT or are they throwing whatever they can find, in hopes it sticks. idiots.
How can he assume he had been rehabilitated when he didn’t know of his past. To make the assumption he was rehabilitated is to admit he knows about Ayers. He can’t have it both ways.
Mary Matalin quoted Ayers tonight.
I’m guilty as hell and free as hell. America, what a great country.
LOL that's the old lawyer joke:
Q. How does a lawyer say "F*** you"?
A. "Trust me."
Never assume, commie.
