(MILWAUKEE) - John McCain and Sarah Palin were about halfway through a town hall meeting here when a man in the audience rose to be heard.
I'm mad! I'm really mad! he shouted. And what's gonna surprise you, it's not the economy. It's the Socialists taking over our country.
The crowd of several thousand erupted in thunderous cheers, as if many of their most underlying concerns had finally been verbalized.
The mans righteous anger set the tone for Palin, who fully embraced her role as the Republican tickets attack dog. Palin seemed to question Barack Obamas character repeatedly and slammed his judgment on hot-button issues like abortion, calling on voters to hold the mainstream media accountable for failing to challenge the Democrats truthfulness.
Palin seemed to feed off the questions, many of which were filled with vitriol toward Obama and the Democrats. In her answer to a question about her energy policy, Palin seemed to take offense to any suggestion that she might be considered green.
It's time that we start utilizing those also, and then Americans have we've got to conserve also and I kind of sometimes may be come across sounding a little bit green on that one, Palin said. No, we have got to conserve and we've gotten sort of spoiled here, America, but as we wean ourselves off the hydrocarbons and someday off some of these products made by petroleum.
When an audience member lamented that Tom Brokaw cleverly did not bring up the issue of abortion at the last presidential debate, McCain reaffirmed his pro-life position but also extended an olive branch to those on the other side of the issue, saying, We have to show compassion and courage to any young woman who is undergoing this very difficult situation.

For ONCE CBS has it right.....we can’t stand the anti-religious liberal left and their lying candidate, Hussein..
They make a mockery of our election system.
Because then she’ll be President when she sooner or later escorts that same carcass from the Capitol to Arlington.
How hard did CBS work to come up with that headline wording?
I agree with her ... I don’t want to be thought “green” either, because that’s a cult. I’ll conserve energy and other resources because I’m paying for them. Keeping my gas and electric bills down is important to me. I don’t litter, either, because that’s vulgar. I like wildlife and public recreations areas too, and my taxes pay for them. But don’t call me “environmentally conscious.”
How hard did CBS have to work to come up with that particular headline wording?
I wonder if YouTube has that scene posted yet?
Wow. Did you read some of the hate filled posts on that page, denouncing the Repub “haters” that they hate so much. They really hate them haters. It’s a pretty creepy bunch over there. Funny, they don’t understand that I feel sorry for them, I don’t hate them. I don’t know them.
Good grief.
You gotta love her!
This is the second article in a row from the CBS "From the Road" blog series that basically spoke the truth.
I'm mad! I'm really mad! he shouted. And what's gonna surprise you, it's not the economy. It's the Socialists taking over our country.

The McCain campaign plane is better than Obama's, which is cramped, uncomfortable and smells terrible most of the time. Somehow the McCain folks manage to keep their charter clean, even where the press is seated.

Moosemeat. Sarah is magnificent.
The media bias doesn’t anger me anymore, because I think it’s actually become a plus for the McCain-Palin campaign, it’s so ludicrous. But this is one more example of an undeniable fact: The drive-bys will cover issues that aren’t Dem talking points (in their snarky way) if the candidates are involved, but not if they aren’t.
Viewing that clip, I came away with one thought...
McCain didn’t hear him.
Don’t think we need that kind of imagery here.
