ACORN RICO announcement / McCain's news...what gives?
Vanity

Posted on 10/09/2008 2:43:16 PM PDT by BobbyT

Bear with me here. I work nights, so yesterday evening I started seeing the posts about multi-state FBI investigations into ACORN, finally hitting them with RICO charges based in Chicago, etc.

Then the $140k sell on the Obama contract on Intrade, and a similar buy on McCain. Then in the wee hours of the morning mentions of the McCain campaign's huge news announcement, and Fox's coverage coming up. October surprise, etc...

I come home, go to bed, get up hoping for the wheels of justice to be creaking into motion...and can't find a single bit of news or one new mention on FR. So what happened with ACORN / RICO and what was McCain's big news?

I’ve been waiting and watching all day - nothing, zip, nada. Wish I knew.

I think the big news was that McCain today mentioned Barney Frank and Chris Dodd by name, when speaking of Fannie Mae.

I envy you because I sat here working all day with my finger firmly on the refresh button and nothing all day. I have been watching the Strategy Room on Fox’s website and one of their journalists is anchoring tomorrow night at 5:00pm with some big news story. She only teased even though the panel tried to get the story out. Who knows?

Considering the only sources on this RICO announcement so far are a Hillaryforum post, and one brief mention on a not so far-and-wide talk radio program, I’m beginning to find it a bit suspect....sad to say.

Same thing with the Obama/Odinga connection in Kenya. No news at all. The fix is in.

BobbyT,

Patience. I believe today wasa turning point in the campaign for several reasons. Here in Waukesha Wisconsin, Sen McCain got an EARFUL from frustrated supporters about his lack of passion on the issues of ACORN and Ayers. They really let McCain have it and I beleive he is going to do what was asked.

It does not hurt that ACORN has seriously overplayed their hand and that Obama has been caught lying on campaign finance records about what he paid ACORN $800,000 to do during the primaries. I see the Clintons behind some of this.

I think CNN had something about it maybe 20 minutes ago, but I only saw the last few seconds of the story & I don’t know what they said.

I get the sense there was a last minute switch. The RICO thing was going to break, then for whatever reason, it didn’t, and to keep from looking dumb, the campaign put out the “Ayers” web ad as their “big announcement.”

It’s a good ad, but it’s not worth the hype we were seeing in the overnight hours last night.

I think somebody in the McCain campaign said that Obama looked a little tired from all the campaigning and McCain said that there is no place in his campaign for such racist comments and that he would “focus on kitchen table issues that concern all Americans”, not personalitiies or race.
