Why is Hugo Chávez Involved With U.S. Voting Machines?

The greater threat to our nation's security comes not from Dubai and its pro-Western government, but from Venezuela, where software engineers with links to the leftist, anti-American regime of Hugo Chávez are programming electronic voting machines that will soon power U.S. elections.

Congress spent two weeks overreacting to news that Dubai Ports World would operate several American ports, including Miami's, but a better target for their hysteria would be the acquisition by Smartmatic International of California-based Sequoia Voting Systems, whose machines serve millions of U.S. voters. That Smartmatic -- which has been accused by Venezuela's opposition of helping Chávez rig elections in his favor -- now controls a major U.S. e-voting firm should give pause to anybody who thinks that replacing our antiquated butterfly ballots and hanging chads will restore Americans' faith in our electoral process.

Hugo Chavez' government in Venezuela is well known to be leftist and anti-American. Bill Ayers has been an Obama business associate over a seven year period first at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (1995-1999) and second at the Chicago's Woods Fund (1999-2002), as recently as 2005 has stated he is unrepentent about his involvement in domestic terrorist actions that were carried out by members of the terrorist group, the Weather Underground Organization (WUO), that he and his wife, Bernardine Dohrn, co-founded. Ayers, accompanied by Dohrn, gave a presentation entitled "Choose Democracy!" to President Hugo Chavez and other venezuelan governmental officials at the Conference on Education in the Bolivarian Revolution that was held on May 27, 2005 in Caracas, Venezuela (Ayers and Dohrn's presence in Venezuela for this purpose is documented in a photograph in which they appear together that was printed in a Venezuelan newspaper on June 1, 2005.)

A year and a half later, on November 7, 2006, Ayers again addressed President Hugo Chavez, Vice-President Vicente Rangel, Ministers Moncada and Isturiz as the keynote speaker for the World Education Forum in Caracas, Venezuela. Ayers greeted Chavez and referred to him and other Venezuelan government officials there as "comrades" and signaled his support for Chavez' Bolivarian Revolution by opening the forum saying, "Welcome to the World Education Forum! In an article published on Sept. 16, 2008 at American Thinker, Scott Swett and Roger Canfield had this to say about Ayers and his wife and fellow unrepentent domestic terrorist, Bernardine Dohrn

Even before Weatherman began its notorious bombing campaign, the group's future leaders had formed relationships with others who shared their hatred for "Amerikkka."

Bernadine Dohrn made numerous contacts with Fidel Castro's Cuban Mission at the UN in 1968 and 1969, during which time she arranged for SDS groups to visit Havana.

After returning from Cuba, Dohrn and others met with North Vietnamese and Viet Cong representatives in Budapest, Hungary, to discuss antiwar strategy on US campuses. Speaking a few days later at an assembly of revolutionary student movements at Columbia University, Dohrn reported that the Vietnamese communists she met in Budapest were working with US GIs in Saigon, attempting to obtain military information.

As a gesture of solidarity, the Vietnamese who Dohrn met in Budapest presented her with a ring made from an American aircraft shot down over North Vietnam. Bill Ayers would receive a similar ring while meeting with Vietnamese communists in Toronto. He later recalled being so moved by the gesture that he "left the room to cry." He said, "I realized...America was an evil... and that I was... living inside the belly of the beast...."

As documented in the photograph above, Ayers' wife and unrepentent domestic terrorist, Bernardine Dohrn, is also friendly toward the Anti-American Chavez regime. This past spring, questions were raised about whether her purpose in going to Colombia this past year was to act as a presumptive Obama administration envoy to communicate with FARC rebel leaders in Colombia who support Obama's current presidential bid (directorblue.blogspot.com/2008/04/recurring-ties-between-obama-and.html).

"Angel" was FARC's code name for Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. FARC commander Ivan Marquez, who Colombian intelligence officials believe is living in Venezuela, was apparently a frequent visitor to Chavez's office. The ambitious Chavez, the self-proclaimed leader of a "Bolivarian Revolution" named after the Latin American freedom fighter Simon Bolivar, is secretly arming Venezuela for a so-called asymmetric war against the United States -- a strategy that closely resembles the guerilla war FARC has been waging for decades.(www.spiegel.de/international/world/0,1518,557736,00.html).

Obama is mentioned among documents recovered by Colombia from the laptop of slain FARC leader Raul Reyes. In his last letter (Feb. 28, 2008) he wrote to FARC, Raul Reyes cheerily reported to his inner circle that he met "two gringos" who assured him "the new president of their country will be Obama and that they are interested in your compatriots. Whether they can steal the election outright or just leave people in increasing doubt about the validity of the count, their job is done and it is to tear apart this nation. The New Left has been the same players for 40 years. This should not come as a suprise.

It is now 26 days before the election, and this is the first that I have heard about it. Hugo would love to influence this election and this, on top of all the acorn crap could screw this one up so badly that we might never see the bottom of it. I saw a 30 minute clip on black box voting fraud and they showed on there that a machine could be rigged by the software it is used. They had 8 or 10 people use the machine and record their votes on paper when the electronic sheet was printed up the votes were opposite for whom they had voted for.
