UK: Mother gets £170,000 a year in benefits to live in £1.2m house

Toorpakai Saindi, who has seven children, has been granted an estimated £400 a week in child and local tax benefits, while her landlord receives £12,458 a month because there is no other suitable property available.
The Saindis were placed three months ago at their current £1.2m house which they are entitled
to have by law given the size of their family
Mrs Saindi, who has four sons and three daughters aged eight to 22, approached Ealing Council in west London in July after being made homeless. The authority has a legal obligation to find her a seven-bedroom home.
The mother, who came to the UK from Afghanistan seven years ago, said: "I always thought the housing benefit was a lot, but I'm told that is what it is for homes like this here."
She added: "It's a lot of money, but the council pay it. This is their problem. I don't know why they pay so much."
The council says both the benefit and rent payouts are set by central government.
Her son Jawad Saindi, 20, said although it felt like they had won the lottery, his mother complains that the house is too big to clean.
"If someone gave you a lottery ticket would you leave it? No. You take what you get given," he said.
"It's not that we wanted this big house - my mum is not happy because she has to clean all of it. The first day we moved in here we got lost because it was so big."
The Local Housing Allowance, introduced across England on April 7, enables landlords to find out the maximum amount of money available before a price is agreed.
Estate agents Foxtons said similar properties command rents of only about £6,000 a month.

That’s just the rent. That doesn’t cover the food welfare and free healthcare they get as well. And in the meantime, the UK has to downsize its military every year because its budget keeps getting cut. Madness.....

I wonder if they had to modify the bathrooms so the toilets wouldn’t point towards Mecca. I wish I had her address, I’d send her some Mohammed toilet paper.

I’m sure all in the name of “multi-culti” as they call it in the UK, they will be sending over an army of construction workers to make sure the house is Sharia compliant.
I heard recently that Londons olympics planners are claiming that the 2012 summer games will be the most “multi-culti” olympics ever. I’m sure the opening ceremony will be a 4 hour grand apology to the 3rd world for British colonialism all put to music and dancing.

It does sound that way.
BUT...given an article I read in Forbes (at least 15 years ago)
that detailed similar HUGE welfare payments that a member of the
English gentry received to keep body, soul, luxury automobile and
country manor together while he was "between jobs".,,
I can say the story COULD be just "the truth".
I love the UK and many of the people there...but too many are mental
morons when it comes to worshiping at Our Lady of Perpetual
Secular Human Indulgence chapel!!!
Mum complpains house is too big to clean.
That sounds silly. But she's probably just making an honest comment.
Probably because of some Islamic/Muslim tradition that forbids cleaning
the house with an instrument that didn't exist in the lifetime
of "The Prophet". (e.g., an electrically-powered vacuum cleaner)
Muslim immigrants living in free housing.
IIRC that one-eyed, two hooks-for-hands Terrorism-pimping
imam in London was living off the dole. Oops, the imam and his
wife (wives?) and their offspring.
While he was busy preaching violence against The Infidels
at a mosque. And on the streets of London.
And this is not an uncommon phenomenon in parts of "The Anglosphere".
IIRC, the "Millenium Bomber" (Rezam?) that was hoping to set off
a New Year's Eve bomb in Los Angeles had been living, ON THE DOLE
in a house in Canada with some other "refugees" being put up
by the Canadian subjects' tax dollars (welfare).
That house is 1.2 million? Its a dump.
It IS a dump.
But after talking to some Brit ex-pats I know, $1.2 Million is
very likely a realistic figure in some crowded urban areas of
the UK.
My Brit friends said one reason the finally immigrated to the
USA was (unashamedly) finding out they could afford a decent house
here in the USA.
(They're good folks. And honest about their immigration and
pursuit of US citizenship.)

I spent some time over there in the early nineties. Before all the speed cameras were all over the place. I had a good time, and the further north you went (away from London) the nicer the people got. Lots of bed and breakfasts.
The way they are now, I’d never go back. It’s like the ‘Twilight Zone’ where everyone else has changed but I’ve stayed the same - weird insanity is the norm there, I would not fit in.

LOL!
Reminds me of the stories my brother told after he and his
girlfriend took a jaunt around Germany.
He said the Germans in bigger cities (e.g., Munich) had a real
attitude...but once they got into the German countryside,
the volk were just great.
