Brooks was born into a Jewish family in Toronto and grew up in New York City in Stuyvesant Town. He graduated from the University of Chicago in 1983 with a degree in history.

That was a damning video as well. This guy still describes himself as a conservative. Words fail me.

"the two best candidates we've had in a long time."

My wife characterized the debate last night as Greg Marmalard versus Mister Magoo. Sounds about right to me.

The fact that this clown works for the NYT tells everyone everything they need to know about this guy.

Does anyone believe the NYT would hire an effective conservative writer to work for them? Hell no! They get an idiot like this instead.

If Palin is in any way fatal to the Republican Party, then the Republican party is better off dead.

Maybe then a true Conservative party that believes and acts on the values of our Founders can take its rightful place in American politics.

For those who may wonder at what form of Acid Mr. Brooks is taking all you need to know is the following.

During the 1930s, Niebuhr was a prominent leader of the militant faction of the Socialist Party of America.

Mr. Brooks and his tingly feeling can go hang out with Chris Matthews and talk about socialist reform with their fellow travelers for all I care... (Mr. Brooks admits that the origins of his political leanings are liberal.)

That’s one hell of a wide brush you are using there.

Yawn.

Mr. Brooks, no matter what pretenses he offers to the contrary, obviously knows absolutely nothing about the Republican Party...

I would say the converse is true. Conservatives know little about the Republican Party and its adherents of the last three generations.

Mussolini was praised worldwide in his initial "third way" approach. Obama will be likewise. Representative republic governments of a complex nature have offices where the potentiality of the office is not used -- mostly by long held custom and moral. As Rome learned, once the potentiality is tapped, for reasons good or bad, the Republic ends but the empire that carries on retains its forms to keep the mob placated and asleep.

You mean like Bill Ayers, Dave? And Bernadine Dohrn? And Jerry Wright? Yeah, that’s one impressive team there, boy. Never mind the running mate who’s a lawyer, a former chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, still a member of the committee, and yet apparently can’t remember which article of the Constitution covers which branch of government.

This is what apparently passes for thinking in the editorial offices at the Times. Amazing. I bet you probably still wonder why people at GOP rallies boo and curse members of your profession.

The Republican Party with Sarah wins. The Republican Party of Brooks and Noonan loses. Keep it simple.

I used to pay attention to what David Brooks had to say...until his personality disorder started to manifest itself around the time he joined the NYSlimes. Now, I just feel sorry for him and don’t pay much attention to his musings. Besides, how many guys go from wearing blue/white ties to pink/white ties in just a few years?

... the more I think experience matters, ...

Had just about all the "experience" we can bear up under for a while.

300,000,000 people in America and we keep turning up the same few hundred left-hand thread nuts.

If Brooks is a Republican - I don't think he is a Republican but I do believe his analysis is usually pretty good. I enjoyed watching him on The News Hour with Mark Shields but he is totally in the tank for Obama and I do believe that clouds his judgment and I have not thought to highly of his analysis in the last few months.

I read once that one is not a real man unless he owns a pickup truck, a chain saw, and a handgun.

Does a rifle count in place of the handgun? If so, I'm OK.

If you apply the tortured logic of this snob Ronald Reagan would not meet his qualifications but Jimmy Carter would. LOL.

Excellent point, look what so-called “experience”-that includes the White House, Congress, and all the bureaucracies they've created-have gotten us.
