While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.
Quite an eye-opener for me...!!!
Exactly as I pictured her before being told. It took a parent like that to raise an Obama. A misfit.
I really don’t know...I’d sure like to < pollyanna > BELIEVE so! </ pollyanna >
HUH?
This snarky comment from a Freeper who voted for Bill Clinton. I've been a conservative Republican since Ronald Reagan's first administration... and I didn't need conservative talk radio nor internet (obviously not invented back then) to assist me in forming my opinions, nor to see what the despicable Bill and Hillary Clinton were all about. I just used some good judgement and gut feeling.
I obviously agree with McCain's ideology over Barry's, but what "wins debates" these days seems to be smooth communication skills and the phrase "healthcare is a right not a privilege" coupled with the poignant story of Barry's mother dying of cancer at 53 resonates with lots of undecided voters and sheeple in general.
I'm not saying Obama "won" the debate, but I don't think McCain did himself much good tonight... the polls will tell in a day or two. Hope I'm wrong and McCain emerges as the "debate winner"...
Dear one...that’s just what I hope and pray.
This campaign has been ugly and expensive and we still have a month to go.
I’m going to worn out. ;-)
I can only think about how tiring this is for Sarah and her family and John and his family. Whew!!!
Time for rest.
Speaking of rest...I got to go.......nite night dear one.
women are not even 2nd class citizens in islam. Obama didn’t respect his own mother or his typical white grandmother. He didn’t respect Hillary. I feel sorry for his daughters whose babysitters were Mr. and Mrs. Ayers. I don’t feel sorry for Michele Obama at all but I doubt he respects her either. The culture ingrained in islam is harsh to women. Even the women are on board. Mothers coddle their sons and get nothing in return. Fathers do honor killings, even in America. Women are stoned to death in some of Obama’s favorite places.
Here in public where I blasted you, I apologise, there seem to be trolls or whingers galore here right now, and I’m sensitive to it right now. Sorry Friend, if you think he did badly, then you do. But your tagline is too scary :)
Pray for W, Palin/McCain and Our Troops
and Rezco and Wright, and Johnson and Raines and Dodd and Frank
Sarah Palin can take the gloves off though. If they attack her, McCain camp can call Barry a sexist and Barry loses even more women's votes.
I think you're onto something. McCain, despite his "maverick" trademark, is a safe, boring choice 80% of the time. And I agree that he comes across as "transparent." He'd call it "straight-talk." I think he has a tiny aura of integrity about him that is rare in a politician.
I expect McCain to do a much better than average job of selecting qualified cabinet members.
I suspect that voters look at Obama and wonder if he'll fill his administration with younger staff ready to "change" everything. Remember when Clinton's Whitehouse was full of pizza-eating 25 year-olds? Voter may be intrigued with Obama, but may be leary of too much change . . .
Sometimes, the known (i.e., the boring) is more desirable than the unknown (i.e., "Change that I'll never actually define"). Threats of undefined change can be unsettling to people who want only a few pet peeves changed.
And McCain still owns Obama on foreign policy. Most of us are amazed that we have not had 911 repeats. That speaks well of a Republican administration.
Good points.
I don’t believe for a second that George Clooney is gay. He’s just immature and selfish, which is why he has never married and had a family.
Thanks for your lyrics. (Borrowed for tagline)
