PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE #2 LIVE THREAD
10/07/08

Posted on 10/07/2008 2:01:24 PM PDT by TornadoAlley3

While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.

Wow. CNN’s Soladad just asked her focus group who they would vote for right now. 14 said McCain. 11 said Obama. They can’t believe it after all the dial testing said they liked what Obama said more. And they said they trusted Obama more on the economy.

Could it be that Obama is too pretty, too crafted indicating a celebrity that is sly and has something to hide? McCain is not pretty in fact he has a broken body due to torture. Maybe McCain is coming across as not pretty, but worn and yet, transparent. His tests wounded him and even broke him, but he does love his country and is a patriot who has nothing to hide.

‘Is that what American’s have come to to elect a president? Smooth? Clinton came off as smooth, look how well that turned out.’

exactly. you’d think that Americans would have learned after Clinton.

Yes, an M.D. He's a brilliant guy. I just think he's getting wierd lately. Can't seem to give a clear analysis. How can he think Obama is anything but a fraud? The guy is astute and very wise. I think he's doing Hollywood right now and it, in my humble opinion, detracts from his genius.

Oh, but there's more....

(b) HOMEOWNER ASSISTANCE BY AGENCIES.— (1) IN GENERAL.—To the extent that the Federal property manager holds, owns, or controls mortgages, mortgage backed securities, and other assets secured by residential real estate, including multifamily housing, the Federal property manager shall implement a plan that seeks to maximize assistance for homeowners and use its authority to encourage the servicers of the underlying mortgages, and considering net present value to the taxpayer, to take advantage of the HOPE for Homeowners Program under section 257 of the National Housing Act or other available programs to minimize foreclosures. (2) MODIFICATIONS.—In the case of a residential mortgage loan, modifications made under paragraph (1) may include— (A) reduction in interest rates; H. R. 1424—12 (B) reduction of loan principal; and (C) other similar modifications.

Discretion I'm concerned will be liberally applied.

Obama commited one of the greatest modern political sins: he was boring.

Where is the touted Obama Superstar?

Honey, that’s the reason I have been soooooo encouraged.

I believe this is going to be a blowout!!!
They are 18 million strong! Men and women.
Pro-abortion and pro-homosexual, but voting Republican as big as can be!

It just goes to show you what can happen when Country is put first.
Praise the Lord!

These folks know zero is a muslim and they’ve posted all the same videos we have here. They are protesting at his campaign stops too.
They are also giving money to McCain.

So, as far as I’m concerned....they’re voting with the heart and pocketbook of a patriot!

Come on and let’s go vote!!! ;-)))

>>>Guess I better dust off my passport<<<

Where to? Back up to Canada? (I'm from Seattle and Vancouver is nice!!!); or to Australia or New Zealand?

I'm weighing choices too. At 72 I don't like the idea of moving, but Seattle is almost intolerably liberal now. Under Obama....I can't imagine.

It needs to be articulated.

Socialism is a failure. It Taxes the productive and rewards the weak. It removes incentive to excel.

It ensures lackluster performance and failure

Obama’s surrogates all have that smug, confident look. They have to answer to no one. They have this election locked up. Their campaign has run circles around McCain’s surrogates. And now we will we see the most arrogant of democrats, with the trifecta complete with the acquisition of the Presidency. Thanks Bush!!!

Well I am not ready to give up yet!

Slick and pretty are two dangerous attributes. I’d rather have old ansd wise. Most cultures respect the elderly as wise keepers of knowledge and tradition. Americans look for the pretty face and youth.

That is probably true, but there’s a world of difference between encouraging banks to improve the terms and having the government outright buy up and rewrite ‘affordable’ mortgages for everyone!

that’s what i was wondering. is there backup on this?

Greta Van Sustern has brought it up with her Politico and following guest. Apparently, this is a new proposed program, but McCain has proposed it before back in April.

I’m no fan of Clooney’s politics, but he redefines the word “handsome” beyond belief. Are you KIDDING ME that you think Obama is handsome or appealing to a woman? Gross!!!!!!!!! His ears are huge and his head/face are all disproportional! Even Michelle talks about him being “stinky in the morning”!!!

Yuck!!
