While the two presidential candidates, Senators John McCain and Barack Obama, prepare for their second debate on Oct. 7 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tom Brokaw gets to sift through questions submitted by you. In addition to queries from a group randomly selected by the Gallup organization, Brokaw will be fielding questions submitted online at mydebates.org, the site created by the Commission on Presidential Debates and Myspace. The focus of the town hall-style debate will be domestic and foreign policy, Brokaw's specialties.
Some of us are already spurred to action.

Obama is all that you say but he is polished and speaks in such dulcet tones that it takes you a while to realize that he is saying nothing of substance. McCain speaks in a halting and uneven voice, but what he says reflects considerable experience and at least some degree of wisdom. I hope that enough people can still discern the difference between style and substance.
This was not a game-changer because Brokaw did not allow one question that has not been asked and answered ad nauseum. No guns, no abortion, no Supreme Court and, of course no questions about qualifications . . . .
Yes, it is, although the surrounding counties, esp. Williamson to the south (Brentwood, Franklin)are heavily Republican. But, Nashville itself is and has been a liberal city. They don't call the Tennessean newspaper the Morning Worker for nothing.

I’ve been tuning out of the talking heads telling me what I heard. Watch feeds from net or C-spam instead.

Did anyone think that Brokaw would allow ANY question that might allow McCain to go near the Ayers/Wright issues?
Tom was doing his absolute best to keep that away from McCain.
I thought it was very telling though how BO didn’t answer whether or not he would offer military assistance to Israel. McCain said yes, and that he would not ask for UN approval, BO said we would keep all options on the table but not specific.
The MSM will not allow the Ayers/Wright issue to have front page space. It will only be heard at McCain campaign stops. It will begin to ignore the clips of Palin and John beating BO up over it.
I think the msm made so much of his reported “temper”, they might have neutered him some.
