WASHINGTON - GOP presidential nominee John McCain has past connections to a private group that supplied aid to guerrillas seeking to overthrow the leftist government of Nicaragua in the Iran-Contra affair.
McCain's ties are facing renewed scrutiny after his campaign criticized Barack Obama for his link to a former radical who engaged in violent acts 40 years ago.

I can’t decide if that’s gross but funny, or funny but gross.
The Obama crowd can go with this one if they want. The difference here is that Singlaub and Ayres won’t. And when Ayres finally does start talking in a week or two, it won’t matter because even he can’t dispute the involvement that we’re taking objection to. The press is going to have to cover the Ayres story whether they want to or not in the next four weeks.
