Does anyone worry about Sarah Palin becoming so polarizing by attacking Obama so much during this campaign so that it damages her future status as a national political figure?

If McCain doesn’t win, I want her to be a contender in 2012, and I don’t want her to be “damaged goods”.

LOL. Newbie, Palin can’t be damaged goods whether McCain wins or loses. Her attacks against Obama help her with the Rep base and unifies the party now and in 2012 should McCain lose. McCain is the polarizing force within the GOP.

Perhaps I’m just reading Allahpundit over at HotAir too much. That guy’s pessimism is so pervasive, it gets to me at times. He points to polls showing her negatives getting progressively worse. I really like her, and I want her to be a national political figure for the GOP in the future.

I would prefer to see Palin go after Obama on Fannie/Freddie/Jim Johnson/Raines, etc. If they were going to do the Wright/Ayers comparison, it should have been done months ago by 527 groups.

Let Sarah talk about THIS next week.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S8QcpdUtxNQ

How about Obama openly campaigning for his communist cousin Odinga who signed a pact with Muslims to enact Sharia Law if elected and started riots when he lost. Obama campaigned for an openly Anti-American candidate in a foreign country in 2006 at taxpayer expense.

I think the McCain campaign held off on the Wright/Ayers comparison to be sure they had gathered all the facts, and checked and re-checked their sources...and to put it out there just before the election - leaving little doubt of the truths exposed.

I doubt they had counted on the Fannie/Freddie economic crisis erupting just at the same time they had planned their attack on Obama's "associates." That has been the unfortunate timing. (I actually believe the Democrats had something to do with this crisis situation coming before the public just now, in order to advance Obama's candidacy, but that's gut feeling...for now).

Anyway I think the campaign had set all in motion to release in Oct. and it would have had much more impact had we not had the economic crisis. So now, there are the two issues: Obama and his past history and unsavory bedfellows...and the Fannie Mac/Freddie Mac situation.

I just hope they cleverly tie them together as they should, considering Obama having received the Democrat second highest payments from Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac and he had only been in the Senate TWO YEARS!

Thus, his "connections" to the crisis are just as suspicious as his anti-American, hate-mongering, terrorist connections.

Does this man have any friends who aren't shady, seedy, scam artists? Everyone who Obama has associated with seems to have been painted with the same brush.

Her negatives demonstrate that she is a real, substantive national candidate. According to the latest CBS poll, Palin's unfavorable rating is 32 percent. I suspect that this represents the Dems/liberals. Hillary's unfavorable rating was around 50%. The virulent, obsessive attacks against Palin by the Democrats demonstrate how much of a political force she has become, not to mention the fact that almost 70 million people watched the VP debates or about 20 million more than watched Obama-McCain I. The Dems are doing everything possible to destroy her. Need I say more?

I would prefer to see Palin go after Obama on Fannie/Freddie/Jim Johnson/Raines, etc. If they were going to do the Wright/Ayers comparison, it should have been done months ago by 527 groups.

Palin is doing both. McCain should go after Obama on this issue since both are senators and McCain introduced legislation in 2005 to reform Fannie/Freddie. Palin and McCain are the ones who need to go after Obama's Ayers/Wright/Dohrn/al-Mansour connections. It is the only way it will have traction in the MSM. The 527s are being discounted because they are now being labelled as "swiftboat" attacks. The MSM has made "swiftboating" a pejorative term. The reality is that it means telling truth to power.

For me, the only way to win this election is to make Obama the focus. Who is Barack Obama? His murky past and unsavory associations must be the subject of the campaign. He is the most inexperienced and unknown candidate ever to run for the Presidency. We know little about his past except what he has chosen to reveal thru his autobiography. Where are his fellow classmates and work colleagues to support his candidacy? He is a "riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma."

Old friends recall Obama's college years

Agreed.

The other risk the whole Ayers/Wright line of attack is the perception that Palin is ignoring the HUGE issues in the economy and the financial system, and attempting to distract voters. Obama will counter with lines like “McCain/Palin have no answer on the economy, and they are engaging in personal attacks during a financial crisis”. The media will aid and abet this.

This is why I think a Franklin Raines/Jim Johnson/Fannie/Freddie/ACORN line of attack would be much more effective. I don’t want Sarah to be damaged for future elections.

I am sorry to say and point out to you that, just by the mere fact of Obama’s existence,,, Obama is the one who is polarizing.
