2006 census data for Arlington County has a population of 199,776 with 17.7% under 18. That leaves a population of 164,415.65 of voting age. Arlington reported 27.8% of the population in 2000 as foreign born. They don't provide the statistics for those that have been naturalized. The percentage of immigrants is probably higher now.

If now there are 165,000 people of voting age and we make a guess that even half of the foreign born are adults and are citizens by the 2000 numbers, then 22,935 would not be eligible to vote due to citizenship. Subtract that from 165,000 and 142,965 (very conservatively) are eligible to vote.

Arlington reports 146,000 on the voting roles out of about 142,965 eligible? That would mean that 98% of the eligible population is registered.

Arlington is painfully liberal.

What am I missing?

LOL. Imagine that. Now it’s time for some enterprising reporter to do the obvious and find the ACORN connection.

I heard that, too. Something stinks to high heaven.

This is critical, because Virginia could be this year’s Florida.

You might be subtracting some people twice here, since you've already subtracted everyone under 18 years old. Some of the foreign-born population would be under 18, but they're already not in your pool.

Huh? It’s hardly surprising that over three-quarters of the population is adult citizens who have no felony convictions.

No, that would be 103%. Looks like we have some vote fraud happening here.

What am I missing?

Maybe voter fraud?

I live in Macomb County, Michigan which has been a Republican stronghold for a number of years now but on the news this morning they announced that there has been an influx of 18,000 new registered voters.............

Transplants from Detroit? (Wayne County)

I don't know but it just doesn't sound right.........

You forgot to add in the cemetery voters. But, seriesly, if you persist in disfranchising voters the guvmnt will have to place you in a reeducation camp until you are well.

I have said all along

ACORN needs only focus on 4-5 swing states, and probably only 3-4 key counties within those states. They certainly have the resources for that.

Arlington is a perfect example - a county which are urban/leftist/diverse enough that no one is going to question what ACORN is doing, and a large enough population to allow 10% of fraud.

Senator McCain should introduce a bill today calling for anyone found guilty of voting fraud to be held on charges of Treason...then ask Obama to go along with it and call a special session of Congress to pass it.

It is a County with a lot of interest in government, so I would expect the registration rates to be among the highest in the country. But that is awfully high.

Is it possible that Arlington has a lot of military and diplomatic workers who are registered to vote there but don’t live there? The Pentagon is in Arlington, and the State Department is just over the bridge.

I’m not ruling out fraud here, but we have to consider all possibilities.

Arlington is a sanctuary county. The illegals are moving in and voting.
