Nebraska? I gotta ask...6 points down in the polls why is she in a safe state? Didn’t Obama pull out of the state already? Shouldn’t she be in Colorado or Nevada or Ohio? Just asking. Nothing against NE, just seems silly to waste valuable time.

Shoring up red states doesn’t hurt. She will be living in FL tomorrow.

NE’s electoral votes are by district, one district there I heard was not so safe, thus the trip to NE. If a close election, that one EV could make a difference.

Nebraska isn’t winner take all. They have to ensure that they win all districts

She’s the Rock Star, not Nobama. Man, the crowd just LOVES her.

And so do I. :)

I like the hugs - initiated by a couple of the gals she met. At first I thought it was her daughter!

Thanks for posting the video link.

The more I see of Sarah Palin, the more completely blown away I am. She completely grips the crowd; she knows “how to work an audience,” as they say in show business.

I thought it was just great when she owned up to weak interviews with Katie Couric by claiming that she was trying to give Tina Fey more material — “job security at Saturday Night Live” — as she called it. Hilarious!

Note to Sarah: MORE! WE WANT MORE!

I find it strange that the Omaha World Herald IS live-casting an Event that they failed to Announce or plug {as coming soon, to OUR City}.

I worked until 6, this evening and copuldn’t have attended. But my spouse would have liked to attend.

7:49: Palin ended her speech with a rousing call to support McCain: “There is only one man in this campaign who has ever really fought for you,” she said to cheers. “That man is John McCain. Thank you, Nebraska, God bless you and God bless America.”

* * *

7:46 p.m.: Palin took a swipe at the mainstream media for not questioning Obama about his plan to cut taxes.

She also described a “less than successful interview” with “someone in the mainstream media,” to a chorus of audience boos.

She then said she wanted to give Tina Fey “more material.”

“Job security for Saturday Night Live,” she said, referencing the former SNL writer and Emmy-winning star.

She referenced the Katie Couric question: “What do you read?”

When Palin said she was reading yesterday’s New York Times, the people shouted “Boo!”

* * *

7:43 p.m.: Palin began to discuss her plan for energy independence and was interrupted by the familiar chant, “drill baby drill!”

“High gas prices make a full tank of gas feel like a luxury,” she said. “Everything is going up but the value of your paycheck is going down. And that’s because of your energy costs.”

She went on to reiterate the McCain theme of arriving at energy independence through an “all-of-the-above approach.”

“Also, and it does mean, we need to drill here and drill now,” she said as the room that erupted by screams.

* * *

7:34 p.m.: Palin said the pundits have cast her appearance in Omaha as a signal that Republicans are afraid.

She said she “so wanted to reach into that TV and say, ‘No. I’m going to Nebraska because I want to go to Nebraska.”

She said good things have come from Omaha and highlighted UNO’s hockey team, the Mavericks.

“Maybe it’s just the name of the team . . . I love that cheer, ‘Go Mavericks!’”

* * *

7:25 p.m.: Cheers and applause rang out over the crowd as Gov. Sarah Palin took the stage.
