Palin slams Obama as campaign turns ugly

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is a friend to terrorists, the running mate of Republican John McCain said on Saturday in the latest sign the final month of the campaign is turning increasingly nasty.

The comment by Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin was dismissed by the Obama campaign as "gutter politics" and came shortly after the McCain campaign had already called the U.S. senator from Illinois a liar.

With polls showing McCain trailing Obama in many battleground states, including several won by Republicans in the last presidential election in 2004, Palin told reporters she will be an attack dog leading up to the November 4 election.

Speaking at a fund-raiser in Englewood, Colorado, she launched an aggressive assault on Obama just days after both candidates urged Congress to set aside partisan politics to pass a $700 billion package to free up frozen credit markets.

"Our opponent though is someone who sees America, it seems, as being so imperfect, imperfect enough that he is palling around with terrorists who would target their own country," Palin said of Obama, also calling him an embarrassment.

I have in mind to gather so many people together to act at one time that we blow them over. Because of the Internet this is possible. No one has to go anywhere, no one has to spend any money...nothing like that. Remember several years ago when Rush did that orange juice thing?

Soon enough, Obama is going to have to answer the questions. At first, I expect the attacks by McCain/Palin to backfire and they will slip at bit more in the polls due to the negative campaigning. But they must keep hitting , soon enough Obama will be forced to answer, giving the attacks more credibilty.

I am so hopelessly in love.

Also a direct Obama quote from CNN

‘somebody who engaged in detestable acts 40 years ago, when I was 8.’

Why not prosecuted? It has something to do with cointelpro, I’m not familiar with the details.

Yeah, it’s different from 2004. Fresh party one term incumbents like Bush in 2004 are tough to beat. The economy isn’t super strong either.

But Obama is pretty bad, worse than Kerry. I’d like to see McCain keep the gloves off. You know, Barack Hussain Obama, that kind of thing.

What bad will happen? The media will stop being nice to McCain?

In a debate, just like, “I’d love to answer that question about al Qaeda, but I’d first like to talk about domestic terrorists like Barack Hussain Obama’s bestest buddies, Bill Ayres and Bernadette Dohrn.” Nail Obama, full time. On everything. There’s a hi res photo of Obama’s indonesian school records around somewhere. “Did you know 1) Obama was a Muslim 2) Obama was an Indonesian citizen 3) Obama’s name was Barry Soetoro”

That kind of stuff.

Palin slams Obama as campaign turns ugly

The campaign has been ugly for quite some time now.

It's just that the ugliness was one-sided, all coming from the Democrats in the Obama campaign, Congress and media.

It's high time our side gave them a taste of their own medicine. They can howl with indignation all they want; they've had it coming and they know it.

If Reuters and the rest of the MSM had done their job, Obama’s dubious associations would be yesterday’s news, as would his candidacy.

Plus Ayres held a fundraiser at his house to get Obama launched into politics. Yet we’re assured that Obama hardly knows him. Please. My skin is crawling.

They should immediately make this a referendum on the 60’s. McCain says he was doing his part to try to stop the spread of the very real scourge of communism while Obama’s confidents were working tirelessly for the enemy, the communists, back here in America. State Obama and his code pink base were trying to do the same thing for the iraqi insurgents. Go for the jugular.

We need to see all the tired old hippes have to come out in defense of Ayers. This is where the debate needs to go.

Maybe Gov Palin should focus all her attacks on the media .. they seem to be the only entity despised more than terrorists.

Absolutely. They aren’t just in the tank as they say, they are using deception to demoralize the right, making them think it’s over.
