Obama Was Willing to Lose in Iraq

Obama Was Willing to Lose in Iraq A president cannot treat a war as if it's a game.

by Robert McFarlane. Wall Street Journal, 10/03/08

A profoundly important point is being missed in the campaign debate over which candidate was right on Iraq. In 2006, when conditions on the ground were trending downward and a decision was required either to continue the struggle or to cut our losses, Barack Obama stated that the proposed deployment of more forces, the "surge," was doomed to failure and instead called for a phased withdrawal of all forces within a defined period.

In short, Sen. Obama was willing to lose. It was an astonishing display of ignorance to be so cavalier about defeat, almost as if losing a war was tantamount to losing a set of tennis -- something without lasting consequence.

And that should be a deal breaker for all, even marginally, true Americans.

Well, when a $3.4 million wire transfer from an Iraqi businessman to Tony Rezko came a month before Rezko did his land deal with Obama, it’s pretty easy to see why Obama might lean towards undermining our Iraq effort.

He was willing to lose in order to secure votes from his left wing base. Believe me, if supporting it got him more votes he’d do that too.

And, I don’t believe for one moment that he will pull troops out right off the bat. A) It isn’t all that simple a task and B) There will be pressure by not only the Iraqis but other governments as well who feel that Iranian influence is far worse. That’s not to say that the Obama administration won’t pressure the Iraqis to get it together.

True Americans or NOT, LEFTISTS DIMS actually believe DEFEAT is a DEAL MAKER.

So while they may not be TRUE Americans, sadly they still get to vote!

I have been making this point and posting this link on FR for months.

Published Jan. 30, 2007 ...... Obama wants troops home by spring ’08 ……. Illinois senator, presidential candidate introduces bill to force redeployment

I was dumbfounded during the debate when McCain did not take this knife and slit Obama's throat with it.

McCain came across as somebody that expected the average American voter to already know the details of Obama's position. The reality is that the average American voter is about as well informed about politics as a Fifth Grader and must be spoon fed everything you might be tempted to assume that he or she actually knows.

Sure Obama doesn’t mind if America surrenders. Obama is not an American. I’d rather have Sarkozy than Obama.

What do we call a person who accepts defeat easily, and therefore tends to lose a lot?

A LOSER!!!

To be fair, Obama sought to make the US into a loser nation, because he hates us and all he stands for. When its something he cares about, he fights hard and fights to win.

He wants the US to become a loser. But we are a nation of winners, ask Gen. Patton.

Someday, we are going to have a serious discussion about all this.

In 2006, when conditions on the ground were trending downward...

I like that:

"...conditions on the ground were trending downward."

Trending downward.

ROFL!!

In 2006, conditions on the ground were freakin' insane. Stuff was blowing up just about daily, rocket and mortar attacks were a regularity and IEDs were pretty rampant.

Oh, a lot of good was happening then and we could see the hope, but at the time, conditions on the ground were NUTS.

"Trending downward." Who writes this stuff? LOL

What about Obama’s violating the Logan Act?
(sneaking around behind backs and trying to get troop withdrawal postponed until after the election for his own selfish purpose)
Does he get off with THAT too?

ENOUGH!
McCain needs to forget ‘etiquette’ and ‘running a respectful’ campaign, as he put it.

If he doesn’t get off his duff and get out there and hit Obama every day, he’s handing the presidency over to Barack Hussein Obama.

Why is he not mentioning such things as Obama trying to turn Missouri into a police state? Obama trying to turn our children into ‘Hitler youth’?

Email Republican headquarters/McCain.

REMIND McCAIN THAT HE HAS AN OBLIGATION AS OUR CANDIDATE TO FIGHT BACK!

To h*ll with bipartisian BS!
To h*ll with PC!
To h*ll with ‘conducting a respectful campaign’as McCain has said, and vowed to do.

RESPECTFUL CAMPAIGNING WENT STRAIGHT OUT THE WINDWO WITH OBAMA’S NASTY, BRUTAL COMMENTS SUCH AS;
‘lipstick on a pig’ and ‘You can wrap AN OLD FISH in a piece of paper called change. It’s still going to stink after eight years.’

Take off the gloves, McCain!
Hit the Marxist/Muslim hard with Ayers, Acorn, Violation of Logan Act, abortion, 2nd admendment, Campaigning for Odinga!!

It’s even more of a deal breaker when one realizes that the insurgent’s strategy was to destroy our political will. No matter if it wasn’t his intention, Obama’s actions encouraged the insurgents to keep fighting and cost American, Iraqi Army and collation lives. Period.

Interesting. I didn't know about that. I wonder if the businessman was a Saddam loyalist - the very smae people who joined forces with al Qaeda?

Obama, Reid, Pelosi, Murtha, Biden and so many others...they all wanted us to surrender. They all wanted our troops' sacrifices to be in vain. They wanted Iran and al Qaeda to come to fight over and destroy that which our troops had liberated.

They wanted it badly.

And I despise every one of them for it.
