Very early in the article the message is that Americans killed innocent civilians who were being used by al-Qaida. CNN has to taint every piece of good news in any way they can.

As much as I hate that children were involved, any adults that are killed are usually not that innocent. They know the terrorist live there amongst them but refuse to put an end to their deadly deeds. In many cases they actually assist the terrorist. It's the same way in some inner-city ghettos. The cops could be chasing a suspect into a building of apartments and some residents are helping the suspect elude the police.
The US is winning the War on Terror because the terrorist have transformed from a formidable military apparatus to merely a criminal apparatus. That was not by accident.

I clicked on the link at the bottom of the article. Among other things, CNN posted an article about US friendly fire killing Iraqis. You had to read the article to find out that the Iraqis had fired on the US soldiers first. They also put up an article about two US soldiers charged with the murder of a detainee. They are trying to “My Lai” us out of Iraq.
