As much as I hate that children were involved, any adults that are killed are usually not that innocent. They know the terrorist live there amongst them but refuse to put an end to their deadly deeds. In many cases they actually assist the terrorist. It's the same way in some inner-city ghettos. The cops could be chasing a suspect into a building of apartments and some residents are helping the suspect elude the police.
The US is winning the War on Terror because the terrorist have transformed from a formidable military apparatus to merely a criminal apparatus. That was not by accident.

I hear you! I cut a little more slack though. In many cases the "innocent civilians" are convinced that if they cooperate with the US, they are facing a death sentence at home. Having said that, this fact should in no way hinder the military from doing its job of protecting me.
