WASHINGTON (AFP) US President George W. Bush on Friday signed a mammoth economic rescue package aimed at saving troubled US banks and easing a credit crunch that he warned could spell disaster for the US public.
After campaigning for the bailout for two weeks and courting reluctant lawmakers in person and by telephone, Bush signed the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008 before leaving Washington for the weekend.

They each deserve a punch in their smirking faces. I guess it feels real good to stick it to the taxpayers like that while your buddies make out like kings.

I work hard, I have no debt, none, I have paid my house off and my cars, infact everything I have is paid for. Now why on earth did I get this small house when I should have got a mcmansion and send the bill to my rep. This was the American way , work hard play hard and get what you can afford, do not rely on Govt or so I thought when I came here from England. BTW I worked with the 82nd airborne while in the Brit army and royal marine commando's. Found the 82nd a great set of guys and very professional. also they could drink too Thanks for your sevice

sickening isn’t it
the person who could not afford their home but got it though ACORN , FANNIE FREDDIE etc will be alright and yet my wife and I have never had a honeymoon , don’t go on vacation much and have a small house now will be left to foot the bill for that person who lived outside their means.
to think how naive I was on only living in our means and saving hard, to not show off and only get what we could
afford
sickened to no end right now
obama is getting credit, republicans letting them do it, no mention of ACORN and obama by republicans, no asking for franks to step down
ah what’s the use I will just have a few drinks tonight and maybe let the wife wild at shopping tomorrow then send the bill to my senator

I am going to send my mortgage bill and my credit card bill to my congressman and senator and see if i do not have to pay them anymore since they bailed us out.(SARC) I am sick of this govt. BS Actually it is probably a good time to go out and buy all the house you can get your hands on and after either candidate gets into office they will see to it that you don't have to pay for it. I mean ACORN and their buddies want to change the terms of many mortgage contracts. So go ahead and get yourself a $500,000.00 or more mortgage and then pay only a couple of notes on it and then default on the loan because the socialists are going to come riding in with their white hats and save you from the dastardly lending banks and their overbearing lending practices. < /sarc>

I wish Bush would disappear. Go away. LEAVE US ALONE ALREADY. His lies have hurt us, our kids, our grandkids. What a disgrace.
He has bailed all of his friends out of trouble. Thank goodness, for them.
McCain is no better.
Time to find someone to “write in” on the ballot.
Can Bush possibly do any more damage to this nation?
He still has a few months left. :)

watch the dollar. it will soon be worth less than the peso.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
That is absolutely correct. I am watchiong it closely. May have to put our family savings into Euros.
Euros=the new international oil currency.
The Dem plan proceeds a pace. Soon we will be riding horses and using windmills all over again.

My Representative was one of the few who stood his ground and did not vote for the bailout. Thank you, Devin Nunes! He voted "no" on principle and I applaud him for that.

Thanks for the well thought out response. Most attack me when I register my complaints on how he's stabbed conservatives in the back.
You're 100% correct on all counts. The left hates him for the thigs he's done right while giving him a pass on his failings as a 'conservative'.
I personally think he's the best Republican president the left has ever had. With exception to Alito and Roberts, he's certainly been a good friend to their liberal causes.

This is all part of Bush’s grand strategery to unleash conservatism and capitalism on an unsuspecting people once they see how liberalism fails them. Just watch. He’s gonna come through one of these days, I b’leive.

I just wonder if there is something going on that we do not know about.Bingo. Remember that come to Jesus meeting the congressional leaders had at the White House a couple of weeks ago? I'll bet they were told something then that scared the sh*t out of them, whether true or not.

I'll bet they were told something then that scared the sh*t out of them, whether true or not.Something like what? That the FED would just start printing day and night till the money was worth less than the paper it was printed on? They could hold America hostage that way. What's your thought?
