I suppose this makes something like the one hundredth leftist female writer that has decided that Sarah Palin is a traitor to womanhood. But, here we have it again, another wild-eyed, hate filled, far left screed filled with name calling and little else, this one from Rochelle Riley and the Detroit Free Press. One would think that the papers all across the country would be ashamed of giving space to these obviously unhinged women and their so-called political analysis. If you want to see set backs, these sorts of catty, snippy, over-the-top articles against Sarah Palin have set female commentators back to the stone age where it concerns serious people being able to take them seriously.
Riley starts right off the top, not even taking a few lines to get to the blinding hatred, with the headline telling Palin to "leave the race before you further hurt women." One could easily ask Riley to stop writing "before she hurts women further," but she goes on anyway.
In her first paragraph, Riley assumes right off the top that Palin "cannot win" the upcoming VP debate with Joe Biden. Then Riley seems to think that a VP candidate cannot have a difference with the top of the ticket when bringing up Palin's Pakistan comment that seemed to differ with McCain's position. If this no-conflicts ideal is Riley's criteria for the proper sort of vice presidential candidate she should be writing far more readily about Joe Biden than Sarah Palin. About every time Biden opens his mouth he's contradicting Barack Obama these days....

She destroys their victimhood, making them compete without the crutch,
and Palin’s life is an accusation to most women on the left.
You beat me to it. I was going to say the same thing.
The liberals have thrown everything they can at Sarah Palin, and she has passed through all of it. They have no more ammunition, and now the American people can see that their characterization of her as a naive, redneck bimbo simply isn’t true.
For a long time, we had two female columnists at the Detroit Free Press who were unabashed liberals - Rochelle Riley and Susan Ager. (Ager retired just a few weeks ago.) I’ve always glanced over their columns, sometimes reading Susan. Almost always rolling my eyes at both of them. My wife hit the distinction between the two on the head. One morning, I was complaining about their insipid, inane writings, and my wife told me that between the two, Susan was the one she preferred. “Why?” I asked. “Because while Susan is a complete liberal ass, at least I can stand to read her columns. Rochelle Riley is so stupid, so insulting, so ridiculous that I have never been able to stomach completely reading even one of her columns. The woman is an utter moran. Even worse, she always claims the mantle of speaking for ‘all women.’ She’s never asked me what I think.”
My wife is a great lady.
Give that sh**hole Detroit to Canada. It is too far gone.
The good news:
over 2200 (!) comments, and most of them pro Palin.
BTW Rochelle looks like she might be a good “run stopper”
maybe the Lions could give her a job?
She also destroys their separation of women into “leaders or breeders”, women who have had two, one (like Rochelle Riley), or better yet zero children think they’re the only ones fit for command. Sarah Palin shatters that sexist notion.
Back in the seventies many papers had few minority or female columnists. Thanks to affirmative discrimination many were hired in that era. The great overwhelminging majority were left-wing to Marxist. They’re all anti-capitalist, white-males-are-evil type scribblers, and above all hold abortion “rights” as a leftist sacrament. Think Molly Ivins etal. That’s why you can barely distinguish one of them from the other as far as writing styles.

Sung to Hearts song Barracuda
I saw the end of the debate today
I had to turn my eyes away
Wanted to smile at your son kisses hell get from anyone
Alaskan mom tales it never fails!
Among the ice and the weeds
I know youre going to ambush me
Democrats fall down onto their knees
Who could do it? Barracuda!
Two years ago made governor
Before that a small time mayor
Promised to be a reformer,
This woman is a change?
Working mom riles real feminists
Theyve got to make up lies real quick
If one fails, try another trick.
Who could do it? Barracuda!
Sell me, sell you the congress said
Down into deep debt above my head
Who is it that doesnt feel the taxing blues?
All that night and all the next
To argue and debate and then to jest
Mom of five they say is a tool or fool
If the real thing dont do the trick no!
Theyve got to make up more lies quick
Yet sexy librarian is still in it.

But no, she just looks and acts like anyone of thousands of over weight, under educated Detroiters who are motivated by Race and the pull of the Gov’t dole. Unpleasant but the truth.
...It also occurred to me that this chick may be yet another in the long, long, long, line of unattractive Liberal women hating on Sarah because even after giving birth to five children, she still has a great figure and is quite beautiful.
Having just seen that picture, I was right.
