I love watching unscripted live exchanges like this. So much more interesting than what you'll see on the late night talk shows like Leno or Letterman.

I saw that too. Like O'Reilly earlier in the night, he just got fed up with the BS and got mad about it and let go with both barrells at once.

I'M VOTING FOR SARAH...AND SO ARE A WHOLE LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE

I was favorably impressed by Morris in that exchange. He surprised me a lot. He nailed Colmes to the floor with a nail gun and left Colmes lying there wounded and bleeding.

It was great TV.

I think Morris was right about Colmes reading talking points, but I think he should have been kinder in pointing it out. Shame works better than assault.

Colmes really needs to trust his instincts. He blew that one badly. And having Morris point out what was so obvious is a revelation about Colmes. Hannity wouldn’t have done it. When on camera wing it, trust your instincts.

More importantly, simply be honest. If Palin did well, and you think so, say it. Don’t let some handler put words in your mouth. Then you look like someone’s stooge.

Morris’ outrage was interesting. Part of his anger was about his working hard to prepare as a Fox analyst and the least Colmes can do is respect that by standing up and speaking what Colmes thinks.

Morris was right on the money and devastating with that point. He and O’Reilly both overdid their points a bit last night, but both were right. Colmes was clearly reading points, and Frank was clear filibustering the time clock.

Morris looked like he was ready to fight. I am not sure what was going on there. Alan always spews these talking points so what else is new.

The sparks begin to fly soon after the two-minute mark when Colmes cuts in to robotically attempt to run through his list of obvious talking points which Morris took great offense to

A robot zombie! Alan Colmes is the most untelegenic person I've ever seen. How he ever got a job on camera is beyond me. All he ever does is click off talking points...he can never make an intelligent comment about anything. He just reads the talking points and if the conversation veers off into another direction he just picks up his paper and starts re-reading his talking points.

Colmes was an idiot to start spewing about McCain’s voting record when discussing the VP Debate!

He just looked like and idiot and Dick Morris called him on it.

I saw that when it happened last night. Alan had that “Jiminey Cricket in the headlights” look on his face. I was surprised to see Morris do what he did with such energy.

Great post.

Given the superlatives of Morris over last night’s performance.

Given the fact that Gov. Palin’s performance is enough of an October Surprise.

But given that the GOP campaign does not seem to notice her potential.

And given that last night she deflected the utter vitriol and sinister nature of media efforts to craft a narrative both that Palin is Quayle-esque and McCain is toast.

And given that Gov. Palin could probably pull off performances like this every day of the week, probably three times a day in venues all over America.

And given that Sen. McCain would not be covetous of the attention given his running mate.

And given that resources could be devoted to putting the first-team resources of brain power and money and scheduling.

And given that once the bailout debate cools, as it soon will, the minds of voters will return to energy, which is the strong suit of Gov. Palin.

And given that she has removed Sen. Biden from the radar so that she could concentrate on attacking the top of the D-ticket relentlessly and begin to draw his fire again.

And even given that the conventional wisdom says a VP cannot win the election.

Why doesn’t the GOP campaign counter the conventional wisdom and use this outcome as the launch of Gov. Palin on high-viz venues all across the trouble spots in the battleground states and find ways to give her face time with America, unfiltered by the media? Day in and day out?

Turn the daily debate back to her and her strong points.

In fact, let her take the point against Obama while Sen. McCain reminds America who was at the wheel when Fannie and Freddie failed.

For Pete’s sake, when is the GOP campaign going to secrete some testosterone and take on Obama for his pastor, his connection to Fannie Mae CEOs? When are they going to repeat the words of the potential first lady of a country she considers downright mean?

Gov. Palin’s smile and attitude are “shields up” against all the cr@p tossed by the media. She’s McCain’s teflon and has the potential star power to rise above the talking points and statistics that the media and other three candidates are spewing.

Would somebody please wake him up to the fact?

While there’s still an October in which to make a difference, if you please.

Hanity and Colms was great last night. The Dick Morris slapdown of Colms was great then Hanity put the slapdown on that blond congresswoman from FL. Better than watching the WWF
