McCain Holding Back on Fannie and Freddie? Um... Wait For It
No confirmation on this, no tip, no hint.
But I know what he's doing.
John McCain is waiting until the bill passes.
And then he will unleash the dogs of war.
And he will say, "I stayed away from making these partisan attacks, even though you lied ridiculously about me and your own attempts at 'reform.' I held back, because partisan attacks -- even truthful ones -- would harm our country and reduce the chances of getting a vital bill passed.
"Well, the bill is now passed. I put country first. You didn't, and you lied on top of that. And now -- only now that this crisis has been dealt with, to the extent we can -- I'm going to give you a bit of straight-talk about Fannie, Freddie, my attempts to reform it, and your attempts to block reform on behalf of your big donors and friends in ACORN."
Count on it.
We can hope that’s it..but it sure seems like the iron is getting cold. I know of independents who are doubting Sen. McCain now—wondering if he’s just playing games, or if he has skeletons in the closet.
Too bad he voted “yes”. Would have given him a little more moral authority.
I do hope you’re right. The Freddie/Fannie fiasco MUST be exposed. And McCain’s attempt to reverse it MUST be shouted.
yeah, well,
i’m waiting.
Several statements McCain has made in interviews would lead me to think this as well. When interviewed he would say that now is not the time for blame or finger pointing, now was time to get something done. He also said that there would be plenty of time for blame.
God I hope you are right. McCain has got to let it rip.
The ‘Maverick’ better get his Sherrif gear on pretty soon or we’re all gonna be eatin gov’t cheese from the “NewAmerika” of an Obama presidency.
That bill is NOT saving the country, just the opposite.
I agree with you 100% and exactly what I have been telling anyone that would listen. He did not want to do anything with the bill still pending. Just like I told people he had no choice but to vote for the bill — he was between a rock and a hard place.
I most certainly agree that Sen. McCain MUST nail Zerobama to the wall on the Fannie/Freddie connection. He must connect the dots for the electorate.
That is the only reasonable explanation of his silence on the issue. If not political practice, it political stategery in the making. "Rope a dope."
put down what ever you are smoking and walk away!
You are confusing McCain with someone else that if was a true conservative republican would have made NUMEROUS jujitsu blows on The Socialist. McCain won’t because he’s a Rino who wants to be fair. McCain lost his ability to fight somewhere and he’s doing all he can to help Obama win. Maybe Obama promised him some of his illegal foreign money. McCain is a joke. Sarah Palin will not save him. Mr. Combover is toast.
I wonder what color the sky is in the writers world.?
It could be effective. Like most of you, I despise the bill. But whatever it takes to defeat Barry and have McCain be the one (sic) appointing SC justices . . .
I want to believe.
Dream on.
John McCain loves his democrat friends more than he loves the Republican party.
Where is the evidence of this? When has he EVER "unleashed the dogs of war" on the Dems?
I am so fed up with McCain and Palin blabbing about their "MAVERICK" status when they should be naming names and slashing and burning, capturing the American public's anger and focusing it where it belongs.
Instead, they TALK a good game, while Biden and Obama name names, slab Bush day and night, and claim all the credit for anything good going on now, while McCain and yes, even Gov. Palin, mew about "We're gonna change things, oh, you betcha!"
