John McCain is pulling out of Michigan, according to two Republicans, a stunning move a month away from Election Day that indicates the difficulty Republicans are having in finding blue states to put in play.

Hmmm...all of a sudden I can’t get through to the MI Campaign HQ..(figured I’d call and ask if this is true).

Nothing but voicemail messages.

Things that make you go “hmmmm”.

I’m POSITIVE they would never intentionally announce a pull-out on the day of the ‘Cuda debate - BUT - “unnamed sources” certainly COULD put this out there to deflect attention away from the VP debate.

I bet this “rumor” is fact. And, no, I am not a troll nor am Obama supporter - wife and I are HUGE supporters, especially after he picked Palin.

NH is the most likely blue state to flip, followed by WI and PA, then MI, IA or MN.

As someone corrected me elsewhere, I inadvertently listed Iowa as a "blue" state. Concerning the 2004 election it went red, as I'm sure you know. In 2000 it was blue, and I feel like it's blue from all the negative talk this election. :-)

The U.S. should pull out of Michigan. Why the people of Michigan have not tarred, feathered and dragged back across the border Granholm is beyond me.

Granholm and Kilpatrick, a.k.a. "Failure and Felony", are THE Democrat party of Michigan.

The people of Michigan deserve everything they get.

“He who belives this article raise your hand and say: “Yes, I am an fool who believe what the liberal media tells me”.”

Fox Cable News just confirmed it, and Carl Cameron who is the assigned Fox reporter to the McCain campaign, was telling why McCain was doing it. Only so much money to campaign with, and better spent elsewhere. So, it appears it is true.

well.I am a conservative, and by my values and morals I will vote for the best person for my country,it doesn’t matter what someone thinks about getting a real conservative in 2012 after Obama messes up,what matters is now! Any true blue American will vote now! We need every vote in every state that we can get,,who knows what will happen. I bashed Mccain in the primaries but this is who we have and he is far better than obama. Never Give Up-Never Surrender

Is it too late to replace John Sidney McCain with Mitt Romney? imo, Romney during these times would have carried Michigan and been beating B. Hussein in the polls by double digits.

Romney couldn't even beat McCain. He was a weak candidate, and I don't think he has any appeal to the electorate beyond a segment of the GOP base. [Note: I'm not saying that McCain is a great candidate, but he DID win the prmaries and he DOES have much broader appeal, especially among independents and conservative Democrats. Really, it is a friggin' miracle that he has kept this race as close as it is right now, in a year where the Demcoratic candidate should be winning in a blowout.]

I got through and spoke to a campaign worker, named: Stacy, these were her words to me: yes she has heard of this ugly rumour but it is false because she is still there and that they have a big event-(rally) soon in Michigan. Let us just see how this plays out: fact or fiction?/Just Asking - seoul62.......

If he is not willing to take off he gloves, he may as well just pull out of the election. The man is pathetic.

That is what has bothered me about McCain, not willing to slug it out in an anything goes bar brawl. He wants to fight by Queensberry rules, Queensberry rules only work among men with honor. The democRATS are not honorable people.

Must be time to post the Margaret Thatcher picture, also her lecture that this is not the time to go WOBBLY.

If Palin hasn't been over-coached, she'll tell us that herself tonight.

I agree. 2004 was the most intense election that we may see in some time. 2008 will NOT have that sort of turnout.

Conservatives turned out in 2004 because they were deeply insulted. Also, there were gay marriage initiatives on the ballot in 22 states, including Ohio. It helped. (All were defeated).

Conservatives have now been beaten down for four years, and the lack of energy is palpitable. Sarah Palin helped, but with every bad interview, the excitement fades.

That is why tonight is so important. If she can score tonight, it will fire up the base.

But here is the ohter thing. If she is picked on and embarrassed tonight, I think it will also fire up the base.

Things still look good for McCain, but he needs to wake up.

It has almost been two hours since this was published. The McCain camp is generally good about coming out with debunk statements right away. Maybe they are slower than usual here, but it looks more like they are not issuing a statement to the contrary because it is correct. It would be a serious gaffe from the McCain camp to sit on this and not respond with a rebuttal, since the Michigan media has been reporting it on TV, radio and it is being readied for news print.

McCain must spend more money in Florida than he has.

I don’t know what you have been looking at, but I live here and am telling you that so far Obama is outspending McCain at least when it comes to TV ads, radio presence, print advertising. This state has been hit harder with economic problems than most because of the huge drop in the housing market here, foreclosures way up, etc. This state has always been close, was never a reliable red state. It is on the verge of slipping away unless McCain decides to spend a lot more resources in the areas he needs. He still has enough time to win this state back, but it is a situation that has to be handled immediately.

I am glad he does not bother with Michigan, those resources are needed here. Wake up if you think Florida is safe at this point.

The frantic nature of the Dems/DBM appeal for us to give up hope oughta cause more people around here to WAKE UP as to what’s really going on.
