McCain could be railing against the "Obama-Bush Bailout," pointing out Democrat and Obama corruption, promising to clean up this mess without burdening the taxpayers, and rising in the polls. But nooooooo... he is just holding fast to his bipartisan shtick that is absolutely killing him.

When McCain picked Palin he got a taste of what it is like to have conservative support, as he shot up in the polls. He was probably embarrassed by that support, so he's made sure he squandered it since then.

"I think his political strategists have been bought out by Obama."

Have you forgotten who OWNS and has been pulling the strings of both McCain and Obama for a long time?

He cites 2 “Republicans” Does not name names, just says the Campaign has no comment. This is a bulsheit story. And Obama “Journalist” suckin at the nipple. Why? ‘Cause they suck.... they can’t report the real news without hammering Obama into the dirt, so they have to make it up as they go along. I bet those “two Republicans” were a couple of people signing up over at the ACORN office.

Lawsuits in Ohio should hold up the results until Washington State, Oregon, etc. can manufacture sufficient votes to guarantee a Barack’ACORN’Obama landslide. We should have guessed something was afoot when Obama’s handler, Axelrod, direct more than a hundred million to fund ACORN work in all 50 states. The Dems tried to up the anti to ACORN to the tune of 20% of the refunds to come from the fire sale mortgages, in the bill to ‘save the financial system’ that McCain thrawted by returning to Washington and shining light on the scurrying rats. I will always be more pissed at stupid fellow Americans willing to worship Obama and his Marxist minions, than I will McCain.

About 40%, slightly less of Dearborn is Arab, slightly less. Arab does not mean Muslim, although it is more common there, as a lot of the Christian Arabs (majority in Michigan) are in Oakland or Macomb County. Dearborn has about 100,000 people. It's now 5% black, (was none for years as they used to have a segregationalist mayor). It's mostly white ethnic. Dearborn is about 30% foreign born, that includes some of the Poles and Italian immigrants.

Hamtramck total has 20,000 people. Mostly Albanian, East Indian, Bangledeshi, or black along with still some Poles, although their numbers are declining.

Overall Michigan is about 1-2% Muslim. It's overwhelmingly Christian. So if you strictly take Dearborn and Hamtramck's population of Muslims, it's maybe 40,000, in a state of 10 million people. Most Muslims here are black.

The article does say that McCain is pulling down his Michigan ads and mailings. Also, he just cancelled a Michigan rally scheduled for next week.

Two or three weeks ago, McCain had a small lead even among registered voters and states like Minnesota and Michigan were seriously in play. The race has since changed, and with it the states that are seriously in play. For now, anyway. A lot can change in the next month.

There’s no way Detroit was going to vote for him to the point where it would have made a difference in the state.

There is more to Michigan than just Detroit. Flint, Saginaw and Bay City are probably the the next 3 largest cities and all have been severely impacted by the recession here in Michigan.

As for Detroit tho, there are going to be less Detroit voters voting for HObama then voted for Clinton back in 1992........

NRO is basing that on the DetNews piece.

Here, watch Google and see how a rumour spreads:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%22mccain+pulling+out+of+michigan%22 (251 results as of 3:16PM Eastern)

Everyone will repeat what ONE GUY said, because it fits what they want to hear.

Watch this grow (and then fade away)

Right now, at 3:18PM Eastern, Google has 4 stories in News carrying this: http://news.google.com/news?hl=en&q=%22mccain%20pulling%20out%20of%20michigan%22&um=1&ie=UTF-8&sa=N&tab=wn

This is a GREAT LESSON in managing the media. Watch and learn.

The unions blame Michigan's Economy on Bush and the Republicans. The only chance they had was to convince the rank and file union members that better days would arrive with McCain. The present financial problems probably finished him heare. Note: Should have been spelled “here” but was misspelled so Travis T.Ojustice could correct.

Did you (and far too many others on this thread) get the MSM/Dem trash-talking points?

Absurd. Only an honest appraisal of the facts regarding the situation his campaign finds itself in at this point can contribute to a way out. If you care to wear blinders and delude yourself he's doing fine, and accuse others of "trash-talking" for bursting your bubble, then have at it.

He needs to unload on Obama and the dems. For example, he has allowed them, with their press accomplices, to frame the nature of and blame for the current financial crisis. He should have ads up linking Obama to Schumer, Dodd, Frank; about Frank and his "spouse" at Fannie, etc.

McCain needs to attack, attack, attack. And when he's done doing that, he needs to attack.

Like your tag.

Ron Paul is looking good as a write-in after McCain sold us down a 700 Billion river.

Couldn’t care less about a McCain loss now.

If he is not willing to take off he gloves, he may as well just pull out of the election. The man is pathetic.

BINGO - read this Andy McCarthy piece I've had it with the Left and I've had it with "conservatives" who haven't had it with the Left

FYI, Iowa voted for Bush

In 2004 you're correct, but not in 2000. But I did group it in with other "blue" states incorrectly. Thanks for the clarification.

Florida is not even remotely slipping away from McCain. Get a grip. And as far as funding, Obama and the Dems had a very slight lead over McCain as of just a few days ago.

Oh, and welcome to the forum. The "GOP" in screen names is always SO convincing! :-D

Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida are the ones to spend big money on.

And Wisconsin, the most closely contested state by percentage of the 2004 election. Wisconsin was also very close in 2000.
