When McCain picked Palin he got a taste of what it is like to have conservative support, as he shot up in the polls. He was probably embarrassed by that support, so he's made sure he squandered it since then.

The Dems tried to up the anti to ACORN to the tune of 20% of the refunds to come from the fire sale mortgages, in the bill to ‘save the financial system’ that McCain thrawted by returning to Washington and shining light on the scurrying rats. Hamtramck total has 20,000 people. Mostly Albanian, East Indian, Bangledeshi, or black along with still some Poles, although their numbers are declining.
Overall Michigan is about 1-2% Muslim. It's overwhelmingly Christian. So if you strictly take Dearborn and Hamtramck's population of Muslims, it's maybe 40,000, in a state of 10 million people. Most Muslims here are black.

The article does say that McCain is pulling down his Michigan ads and mailings. Also, he just cancelled a Michigan rally scheduled for next week.
Two or three weeks ago, McCain had a small lead even among registered voters and states like Minnesota and Michigan were seriously in play. The race has since changed, and with it the states that are seriously in play. For now, anyway. A lot can change in the next month.
There is more to Michigan than just Detroit. Flint, Saginaw and Bay City are probably the the next 3 largest cities and all have been severely impacted by the recession here in Michigan.
As for Detroit tho, there are going to be less Detroit voters voting for HObama then voted for Clinton back in 1992........

Absurd. Only an honest appraisal of the facts regarding the situation his campaign finds itself in at this point can contribute to a way out. If you care to wear blinders and delude yourself he's doing fine, and accuse others of "trash-talking" for bursting your bubble, then have at it.
He needs to unload on Obama and the dems. For example, he has allowed them, with their press accomplices, to frame the nature of and blame for the current financial crisis. He should have ads up linking Obama to Schumer, Dodd, Frank; about Frank and his "spouse" at Fannie, etc.
McCain needs to attack, attack, attack. And when he's done doing that, he needs to attack.

Florida is not even remotely slipping away from McCain. Get a grip. And as far as funding, Obama and the Dems had a very slight lead over McCain as of just a few days ago.

And Wisconsin, the most closely contested state by percentage of the 2004 election. Wisconsin was also very close in 2000.
